Hi, Couponing to Disney readers! In case you are new to Couponing to Disney, I’m Carrie! I hop over here to Couponing to Disney once a week to share FAQs and answers on Disney travel! I’m an agent with Destinations in Florida, which is an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. That is the NUMBER ONE characteristic you should look for when planning your next trip to any of the Disney destinations. I love working alongside my guests to plan the most magical vacations just for THEM! With the recent special offer from Disney Cruise Line {including 50% off your deposit}, new itineraries for Jan-April of 2015 being released, AND the super awesome Destinations in Florida land and sea offer {of course in partnership with Couponing to Disney and Chip & Co}, I want to talk Disney Cruise Line with you all today!
FAQ #1: What extras can I enjoy by booking a Disney Cruise?
Disney Cruise Line is unique in many ways from other cruise lines. First, you enjoy the unparalleled customer service that only Disney can offer you. From the moment your name is announced upon embarking the ship, to enjoying some adult only time while your children are having the time of their lives in the kids’ clubs, you’ll know you are part of something special. On a more practical side, practically EVERYTHING is included in your Disney Cruise. All your meals, most beverages, Broadway caliber entertainment, room service, snacks, character greetings, special onboard activities, all the pools and recreation areas, large staterooms, a visit to Castaway Cay, movies, and so much more! It really ends up being a great value for your family.
FAQ #2: How do I decide which deck and stateroom I may want?
If you are prone to motion sickness, you’ll want a stateroom that is on one of the lower decks of the ship. A higher inside stateroom, like around Deck 7, will give you quick access to the kids’ clubs, theaters, and restaurants. The higher the deck, the more desirable the location. Personally, I’d enjoy a room with a view, like a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom or one with a Private Verandah.
FAQ #3: Do I need a passport if I am departing from and returning to the same US port?
Passports can be an added expense to your vacation budget. However, I strongly recommend getting a passport for EVERYONE in your cruise travel party, as regulations and expectations change frequently. You’ll have the peace of mind that you are carrying the proper identification no matter which foreign port you are enjoying. And if something unthinkable should happen, and you need to catch a flight back to the United States, you won’t be delayed by having to secure an emergency passport.
FAQ #4: This is our first experience cruising. How many nights should we cruise?
I always suggest to clients to start with a 4 or 5 night cruise if it’s their first one. It gives you long enough to enjoy the many amenities and excursions, yet you’re not gone too long. The perfect Disney cruise experience would be a 3 or 4 night cruise, combined with a 3 or 4 night resort stay at the Disney parks. It gives you the best of both worlds, and tons of Disney magic!
FAQ #5: Are there character interactions aboard the Disney cruises?
Of course! Disney characters are around every corner on a Disney cruise! Always be ready with your camera and autograph book! Or, bring along something easy to sign, and simple to leave at Guest Services. Like a photo mat, or a pillowcase. The characters will sign it while you are out and about enjoying the cruise activities. Then, simply stop by Guest Services to pick it up!
