Are you settling in for a magical holiday season? I know many people are wanting to visit the Disney parks over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. These are truly some of the most magical, memory making times you can have with your family! Last week, we talked about FAQs forTraveling with Teenagers to the Disney parks. Since we are all getting in the holiday mood, today I want to share with you some FAQs about Disney over the holidays!
FAQ About Holiday Trips to Walt Disney World
FAQ #1: We don’t have tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. What is an alternative to this celebration that we can enjoy?
While nothing can take the place of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, there are a few other options to get you in the magical Christmas spirit. Visit EPCOT to enjoy the Holidays Around the World. This takes place in the World Showcase. There’s a street performer in each country, telling their Christmas traditions. Sometimes, there will even be a country’s version of Santa you can visit. Try the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In the Streets of America, the store fronts and buildings are lit up with gorgeous Christmas lights. The lights “dance” to a soundtrack, and it’s something your whole family will enjoy!
FAQ #2: I’ve heard the parks are very crowded over Christmas. Is it worth the crowds to travel over the holidays?
Walt Disney World at Christmas can be very crowded, yet well worth the trip. The decorations, snow on Main Street USA, and the extra special touches you won’t see any other time of year are not to be missed! Arriving at your first park of the day before it opens, taking time to enjoy the “off the beaten path” experiences at Walt Disney World, and having realistic expectations are some great ways to handle the crowds and still enjoy yourself.
FAQ #3: Which resort would you recommend we stay at over the holidays?
If you’re going to visit Disney over the holidays, you might as well stay at a resort that is all decked out, right? While all the resorts have their unique and beautiful decorations, a few come to mind to suggest. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge are my top recommendations for an extra special and magical stay.
FAQ #4: What extra special touches can I add to our holiday stay?
Disney Florist and Gifts will have special items offered that are Christmas themed. You could have one of those delivered to your resort for your family to enjoy. Or, bring along a small Christmas tree to put in your resort room. Each night, after the kids are asleep, Tinkerbell could bring them a little gift to open! How fun!
FAQ #5: Where are some great spots to get our family Christmas picture taken?
Family pictures with a Disney Parks background will be wonderful! Try to visit the Beach and Yacht Club Resort to get a picture in front of the edible gingerbread carousel. Or, the Grand Floridian Resort in front of the life size gingerbread house. Another cute picture could be your kids in their Christmas jammies, taking a flight on Dumbo! With all the great decorations and facades at Disney over the holidays, you’ll be happy to know there are endless picture opportunities!
