There are 30 Fastpass+ Experiences at Magic Kingdom. You are allowed to pre-book any 3 from this list, but which 3 are the best bet for your family? I’ve added my opinion on each attraction plus included some helpful overall tips.
Tips:
- Arrive at the park at least 30 minutes before opening. Within the first hour after the park opens, you can experience 5-10 attractions with short lines depending on how crowded the park is that day. Within the first hour, my family has been able to ride Big Thunder, Splash Mountain, Pirates, Under the Sea and Winnie the Pooh. Other days, we have been able to ride Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea, Mad Tea Cups, Dumbo and Barnstormer.
- Book your Fastpass+ experiences at 10, 11 and 12. Then return to the Fastpass+ Kiosks to book more Fastpass+ selections as the day goes on.
- If you are visiting the park on more than one day, keep that in mind as you plan out your touring schedule. You can divide your Must Do’s over both days and focus on different attractions during the first hour the park opens and book different Fastpass+ experiences on each of the days.
The Attractions:
- Ariel’s Grotto – If your child is a big fan of The Little Mermaid, this is a great place to use your Fastpass+ reservation because it can see lines of 40+ minutes during the day. Ariel does begin meeting at park opening, so another option is to get to the park at least 30 minutes before it opens and when they let you into the park, head straight back to the new Fantasyland and ride Under The Sea and then meet Ariel at her Grotto.
- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – One of the most popular attractions in the Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder is a definite must do with a Fastpass+ reservation or at park opening. If you do a Fastpass+ reservation, consider doing one after dark. The ride is a completely different experience and I swear it goes faster.
- Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – This ride can see lines approaching 1 hour during the peak time of the day. I recommend either booking a Fastpass+ or visiting this ride at park opening or within an hour before closing.
- Dumbo the Flying Elephant – I wouldn’t book a Fastpass+ for Dumbo. Since they have opened the interactive play area in their queue, it is a great place to head during the busier part of the day to let the kids play for a while and the parents to sit and catch a breather. They give you a pager that saves your spot in line which almost works like a Fastpass if you don’t count the time your kids spend playing.
- Enchanted Tales with Belle – This is a must do with Fastpass+. While lines are short during the first hour the park is open, the whole experience takes about 20-40 minutes and you could ride 3-5 attractions during that time instead.
- Festival of Fantasy Parade – reserved viewing spot in the Hub in front of Cinderella’s Castle. Enter across from the bridge to Tomorrowland and be sure to arrive 15 minutes before showtime.
- It’s A Small World – I wouldn’t use a Fastpass+ here. There are a lot more valuable attractions to use your Fastpass+ reservation on. Aim to use a 4th+ Fastpass here that you can get at the kiosk after you use your first 3.
- Jungle Cruise – I would book a Fastpass+ here if it is at the top of your Must Do list. It can see wait times of up to an hour during the day.
- Mad Tea Party – I wouldn’t use a Fastpass+ here. Waits rarely exceed 20 minutes.
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic – I wouldn’t use a Fastpass+ here either. The line rarely exceeds 20 minutes and the queue is all indoors so it is great to visit during the hotter part of the day or when it is raining.
- Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor – I wouldn’t use a Fastpass+ here either. The line rarely exceeds 20 minutes and the queue is all indoors so it is great to visit during the hotter part of the day or when it is raining.
- Peter Pan’s Flight – I would definitely either book a Fastpass+ experience here or head straight to Peter Pan’s Flight when the park opens for short lines.
- Pirates of the Caribbean – If you can ride Pirates within the first 1.5 of the park opening or close to closing, you own’t need to use a Fastpass+ experience here.
- Princess Fairytale Hall: Meet Cinderella and Elena – This is the only location you can meet Elena and Cinderella (unless you meet them at one of the character meals). Definitely book this Fastpass+ if it is a must do for your child.
- Princess Fairytale Hall: Meet Rupunzel and Tiana – This is the only location you can meet Rapunzel and Tiana (unless you meet them at one of the character meals). Definitely book this Fastpass+ if it is a must do for your child.
- Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – Hot ticket for Fastpass+. Be online at midnight EST on the 60th day before your trip.
- Space Mountain – Plan on either riding this as soon as the park opens or with a Fastpass+ experience.
- Splash Mountain – Book a Fastpass+ experience for the hottest part of the day. You’ll appreciate it!
- The Barnstormer – Wait times can reach up to 35 minutes during the day, so either ride this one within the first 1.5 hours the park is open, near closing or with a Fastpass+ experience.
- The Haunted Mansion – I would not use a Fastpass+ experience at Haunted Mansion. Just plan on riding it within the first 1.5 hours the park is open or close to closing.
- The Magic Carpets of Aladdin – I would not use a Fastpass+ experience here either. The line rarely reaches over 25 minutes during the peak time of the day.
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – Plan on either riding this within the first hour the park opens or with a Fastpass+ experience.
- Tinkerbell Meet and Greet – Fun experience for kids.
- Tomorrowland Speedway – This is a must do with a Fastpass+ experience. You won’t have to breathe in all those gas fumes for very long that way.
- Town Square Theater Mickey Mouse Meet and Greet – Mickey can see wait times of up to 15 minutes so a Fastpass+ experience isn’t necessary here.
- Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid – Plan on visiting this ride within the first hour of the park opening or with a Fastpass+ experience.

We went in July for 1 day and only booked our trip about 40 days out so we had to wait for the 30 days before our trip to book the fast passes. We were somehow able to get Mine Train and Splash Mountain. Our Mine Train reservation wasn’t until after 5 pm, so we went ahead and booked the fast pass for Wishes as well. I hesitated booking fireworks since you can see them from anywhere and it stopped us from booking additional fast passes, but it was sooo worth it! The viewing area is truly a little oasis away from the crowds at a time when you desperately need it at the end of the day. We were able to stretch out on the turf, the kids could sit and relax with a perfect view of the castle. The best part is if you hang out there for a little while, they replay the entire show on the castle and everyone is pretty much gone. We had the entire area to ourselves. Also the Electric Light parade came through again as well, so a great spot to watch that too!
For the Be Our Guest lunch link you posted – does this have to be done when you are in your 60 day window or some other point? We are 65 days out. We tried putting in our reservation number using your link and it would not accept the letters in the reservation number. Thanks!
Is there really a reservation link for Be Our Guest lunch? I see that it works but the Disney website says, “reservations are available at dinner only”.
Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) are only available for dinner at Be Our Guest since it functions as a table service restaurant at that time. However, Disney has been testing a fastpass option during lunch when Be Our Guest functions as a counter service restaurant. Apparently Disney was sending an email to resort guests to try the test fastpass but many people started trying to see if they qualified for the test instead of waiting for the email which was arriving only days before their trip. We did the test in November 2013 and my sister did it in January 2014 and it was great!!
Great tips-thanks! Just wondering though why everyone recommends using a fastpass for Winnie the pooh when there is an interactive waiting area to play? Would that not help the time pass similar to the Dumbo ride?
