This Couponing to Disney story comes from my reader Elizabeth…
I read your site every day, if I can! Here’s my latest “Couponing to Disney” story…. I went to a conference this weekend where they were doing a silent auction to raise funds. If you spent $20 dollars, you got 40 tickets to put in bags of your choice for a chance at various prizes. I don’t normally do contests, and all of our charitable giving is already budgeted. But I thought, “It’s for a good cause. If I won even one of these prizes, I would make up the $20. And if I don’t win, I’ll still feel good about giving this little bit.” So I donated my $20. When it came time for the drawing, I won a $20 gift card to a local grocery store! Then I won another $20 gift card to a different grocery store. And as I was collecting that prize, my number was called for 5 coupons for free sandwiches at a local restaurant, worth around $30! I was stunned!
What does this have to do with “Couponing to Disney”? One of the biggest things your blog has done for me is to open my eyes to all the little ways I can save and make money that I’ve never considered before. I am so much more aware now of the “$20 here” and “$5 there” that comes into our home. And being a Disney fanatic myself, I love knowing that it’s going to Walt Disney World! Thanks, Kristin!
