I am often asked what the difference is between the terms “Available at” and “Redeem only at” mean. There were recently different coupons currently available on Coupons.com under zip 30303 that are an excellent example of this wording.
The LaCroix coupon says “Available at Walmart”, however it’s a manufacturer’s coupon and is valid at ANY store. I love that they even added the “Coupon is valid anywhere 12pks are sold”, to make it very clear. I hope more coupons will start to include this to make it easier on all of us! Ultimately your store can accept or deny a coupon for any reason, but this coupon can be used anywhere.
The Diet Coke coupon on the other hand clearly states “Redeem only at Publix”. This coupon happens to be a store coupon, but even if it were a manufacturer’s coupon, you can not use it at any other store. The word ONLY is a clear indication that to use the coupon property it must be used at the store indicated. Hope that helps!
Christie blogs at Wild for Wags where she teaches others how to save and achieve wild savings at their favorite store.
what if it just says redeem at Walgreens but doesnt say redeem only at…Walgreens? Is it still a store coupon?
Yes it did thank you so much! I am learning so much from you and your site is by far the BEST!!
Thanks for the clarification. I wish all stores would read your articles as well so they could educate their employees, it would make couponing alot easier.thanks.
Thank you for clarifying that! I keep getting a few manufacturer’s coupons with “available at Walmart” and wasn’t sure if I had to strictly use it there, this really helps!
