One great way to save on money is to pack your lunch. Adults aren’t as easy to please as kids, so keeping the lunch box exciting can be tricky.
Eating the same thing you ate for dinner the night before can seem mundane. Try to change the leftovers up by adding in a different side or additional spices or condiments. Or you could take leftovers for lunch 2 days after you had them for dinner.
Prepare your lunches on Sunday and store them in the fridge. Assembly will be easy in the mornings. You could make things like salad, cold pasta, wraps, etc. Just make sure you put the condiments on the side.
By bringing your own lunch, you could save up to $35 a week (if you spend $7 a day, 5 days a week). That’s $1750 a year (if you exclude 2 weeks for vacation/leave). That’s almost a Disney trip!
If you are new to Couponing, you might want to take a moment to read more in my Getting Started Couponing series. It will teach you how to coupon like I do!
I’ve started making my lunch the night before, so I have no excuse to not take my lunch the next day. All I have to do is open the fridge, grab it, and put it in my lunch box! I’m always pushed for time too much to try and do it in the morning!
I always bring my lunch to work, but today i forgot and ate in the school cafeteria. Im a teacher. It was 3.25 which isnt bad for a hot lunch, plus it tasted soooo good!! :)
I love to make chili, soups and chicken 7 dumplings and freeze them.
Then I place them in the freezer at work and on those rainy days I zap them in the microwave. Yumm
I do the same thing as well as Red Beans & Rice, Ham & Beans and Pizza. I make extra pizzas when I cook them and wait a few days before I have the leftovers.
