Hello again! I’m back for another adventure in grocery shopping. This is a good week for me to add a few things to our freezer and fill in some holes. My budget for this week was $65.00. I downloaded a few coupons from Kristin’s blog, iBotta and pulled a few from my existing stash. I checked my pantry and freezer and then made my list.
There will only be three of us home for meals this week, as my boys are both away at separate camps. Also, my husband is a teacher and his school is offering free lunch to teachers during the Summer if they are working. He’s eating lunch there Monday – Thursday which will be a perk for my budget in the long run. I am still packing my own lunch for work each day. Our Daughter is eating lunch at childcare three days this week.
My menu for this week included:
- Rocky Top Sandwiches
(Grilled BBQ Chicken topped with a slice of deli ham and provolone cheese served on an onion bun)
Baked Beans
Chips
- Hamburgers, potato wedges, fruit
- Pulled pork sandwiches, salad
- Pizza, carrots
- Hash, rice, Lima beans
- Spare ribs (grill), corn on the cob, baked potatoes
In the end my bill was $62.72. I had a savings of $27.00 using coupons/store sales. I have a $1.00 return from iBotta.
This puts my grocery total at $207.72 which is 55% of my monthly budget of $375.00. My month changes over on July 25th.
I took the initiative to restart my Disney fund this week. My goal is to take a trip in December 2017. I am saving my dimes diligently and working on my apps: Swagbucks, iBotta, and Receipt Hog (use code draf1623). This week I was able to kick off my new fund and make several deposits totaling $79.26. I am not counting my dimes as I go, rather waiting to count them once my milk jug is full. I am excited to save more next week. Back to Disney I go!
See ya later!
