Here are my absolute best tips about almost every attraction at Hollywood Studios (excluding Toy Story Mania, that’s a separate post.)
- Even if the line is stretched all the way back to the 50’s Prime Time Cafe you will still get a seat
- The first 8-10 rows in the center are the best seats
- Look for the well and pull the rope!
Jim Henson’s Muppet-Vision 3-D
- It will likely be crowded after Indiana Jones let’s out
- Try to sit in the back middle area
- Be sure to look under the mat for the key!
Lights, Motors, Action! Stunt Show
- The FASTPASS to this attraction is not linked to the other systems. You can get a FASTPASS here even if your window isn’t open
- Try to sit as high as you can. We sat on the back row!
- You get to take home the drawing you create. Free souvenir!
- If you don’t care to do the show again, you can go through the Animation Gallery store to get back to the meet and greet / computer area
Playhouse Disney Live On Stage
- The audience sits on the floor and you don’t want to be near the front (it’s a puppet type show)
- It’s okay for the kids to get up and dance!
- Fastpass Attraction
- Riders must be 48 inches tall
- Fastpass attraction
- Middle of the rows are the best views
- Seasonal attraction. Only open when the park is very busy.
- Outdoors but shaded with fans
- Fastpass Attraction
- Riders must be 40 inches
- Ride changes almost every time
- You’ll never see me on this one
- This ride is closed for a year long rehab (will open May 2011)
- 4 minutes, 30 seconds long
- FASTPASS ride
- Winner of the day’s competition gets an instant FASTPASS to the front of the line at the American Idol auditions in their closest towns
Journey into Narnia: Prince Caspian
Disney World is the Most Magical Place On Earth. Be sure to learn how to make the most of your trip by reading the Disney World Training series. You can also browse all the articles I have written in an easy to use outline. And if you are ready to book your trip, be sure to read about the perks of using an authorized Disney vacation planner (plus it’s FREE!).
Fantasmic is my favorite night show at WDW. It has some wonderful, unique effects, including classic Disney animated movie scenes being projected onto spraying fans of water. The story may get a little scary for younger kids at times. The show mixes live action with the projections to tell the story. Mickey Mouse is having a wonderful dream about all of his favorite friends, when Maleficent (the witch from Sleeping Beauty) invades his dream and turns it into a nightmare. Mickey finally realizes that it is his dream, and the heroes triumph in the end. Includes scenes from some beloved classics, such as Snow White, Beauty & the Beast, The Lion King and Pocahontas. I don’t believe this show runs nightly anymore; check the Times Guide (available at cash registers throughout the park, and at the entrance.)
If you’re a Disney buff, be sure to check out “Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream” to see a miniature museum about Walt and the amazing ways he brought a whole fantasy world to life! Includes audio and video clips of Walt, models of all of the “castles” from Disney parks around the world, vintage Disney paraphenalia, and more. Not to mention the air conditioning!
We’ve always done Fantasmic with the dinner package reservations for preferred seating…can’t get them this time, but I’m wondering if it’s totally necessary…seems there are tons and tons of seats and all are probably good…but the show probably sell out huh??
Also-this time we’ll have our almost two year old and I’m wondering if it’ll scare him….maybe the no reservations is an omen that we should skip it this trip?
appreciate any thoughts….
Kristin,
I’m doing some WDW planning and I was looking at your WDW training posts. (So helpful BTW!) I have a question regarding the height requirements for Tower of Terror. I wanted to make sure about the height for Tower of Terror since my five year old is 41 inches. Is the height requirement really 48 inches?! If so, I’m bummed!
You are right. Apparently I got it mixed up with Rocking Rollarcoaster. ;)

Is that a change in the date for the Star Wars rehab? I thought I had read it was scheduled to be completed in May 2011. I assumed for Star Wars weekends. Just wondering….. We missed it last month and hoping to catch it in fall 2011.
You are right. I must of looked at outdated info. I changed the post. :)
The star tours will open on May 20th 2011. Just it time for the start of Star Wars weekends. We will be there for the opening can’t wait! Thanks for the great posts!
“you can go through the Animation Gallery store to get back to the meet and greet / computer area”
Not really so now, but you can still get in without going through the show. There are signs up to direct you between the buildings. ;)
