The moment you have waited for is here. You made your advanced dining reservations at Disney World. You got the perfect time and the perfect day for your coveted dining reservation and then you ask yourself how do I get there? Getting to a dining reservation at the different resorts around Disney World can be tricky. I am going to give you some ideas on how to get to where you need to go.
For most dining reservations at the various resorts it is easiest to take the shuttle from your resort to the nearest park and then hop on another shuttle to the resort you are going to. Some dining reservations may be in walking distance of the closest park. You can walk to the Contemporary from Magic Kingdom or you can take a long leisurely stroll to the Yacht Club or Beach Club Resorts from Hollywood Studios. Many people think you can get to the Yacht Club or Beach Club Resorts from Epcot and you can but note that you have to go into Epcot to do this and then take the back entry point in the World Showcase to get to either of those resorts. For the Wilderness Lodge you can take a boat from the Magic Kingdom to there for your dining reservation. Also from the Magic Kingdom you can take the monorail to either the Polynesian Resort or The Grand Floridian for your dining reservations.
If you have a car or are coming from offsite you can park at any of the resorts for your dining reservation. When you arrive at the resort your name will be on a list with the guard at the gate. They will ask you for your name and ID then allow you access to park at the resort. I recommend having a copy of your reservation with your dining reservation number in case you are not on the list. I have had that happen to me and all I needed to do was show my reservation to the guard.
The big question I hear a lot is how do I get to my early morning resort dining reservation. That can be trickier. If you have a car you can drive easily to the resort where your dining is scheduled. If you are staying onsite at a Disney World Resort there should be an early morning shuttle that will take you to your reservation. You should go to the concierge the day before your reservation and ask them about the shuttle to verify and make sure that the shuttle will be stopping at your resort.
I usually take the Minnie Van or a cab though for early morning reservations at a resort. Here is the main reason why, if I don’t have a car with me it is the easiest solution and much faster then the shuttle. We love early morning reservations but my family is slow to get going in the morning and this gives us more time and is more reliable. A cab or a Minnie Van will cost approximately $25.00 but for us it is a time saver and worth every penny.
