I read the most amazing story about what Disney did for an autistic young man who loved Snow White’s Scary Adventures. It’s final day of operation was May 31st, 2012 and his goal was to finish his ride count at 3,500 rides. Check out their story of how Disney made that possible.

My son has had such wonderful (and for me tearful) breakthroughs at Disney (World and Land) He just loves being there and I love being able to make him smile so big. My sister said after looking at all our pictures from the last trip that it melted her heart to see him smiling in every picture. He was carrying on conversations with strangers (I know that doesn’t sound good but they were usualy moms and little kids) where before we had to pull a couple exchange conversations with him. He tried new things that he thought he wouldn’t like (he was convinced he would HATE splash mountian but it ended up being his favorite ride there) He was very well behaved, had next to no melt downs (he did seem anxious about all the people we usually go in the fall and took a May trip this time and decided that Fall was much better for us)

I just read this and bawled- keeping my husband up to date on what I read on each page.
Disney is truly amazing- even as a huge corporation, they will go so far above and beyond that there isn’t even a word to describe it to help make magic for the people that love them.
Whenever humanity gets me down, I’ll think of this story from now on.

I love Disney. They are so accommodating. I have been impressed over and over again. I can’t remember if I’ve ever linked our autism story for you, but http://vermillionrules.blogspot.com/2012/03/disneyland-and-special-needs.html
They are amazing.
