Reasons Why it is indeed faster at night…
- Yes, because the grease on the track has been warmed up all day.
- Yes, especially if it has cooled down at night allowing dew to form on tracks.
Reasons Why it is NOT faster at night…
- No, it only seems so because you can’t see the tracks at night.
- No, it only seems so because it is dark at night and gives the illusion of going faster.

I would agree that it only appears faster since you cannot see the tracks as well. Same reason why Space Mountain seems so fast!
