When I got my free gym membership, my husband decided that we would put the money we had budgeted for it into the Disney fund on the day that the payment would have come out of our account. This was primarily so that the rest of our payments wouldn’t get screwed up and we wouldn’t get confused.
Those are good reasons. But the best reason was so that I could do a victory dance around my living room when I realized $40 went into the Disney Fund this week without me having to lift a finger. Kristen B. for the win!
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: Saving to Disney is about making better choices for the long term. It’s not just about saving, but identifying the most beneficial places to tell your money to go to. In this instance, keeping this fund deposit on the bill schedule not only helped steady our overall budget, it resulted in some much need victory dancing.
I fully intend on doing this victory dance again next month when I have the same realization all over again.
Total Goal: $3500
Total Deposits: $65
PayPal Deposit from Swagbucks: $25
Gym Membership: $40
Still Need: $3187.12
How is your fund coming along? I want to hear all about your victory dance in the comments!
