LOL, you guys. I do not even know what this grocery trip was. It’s like, four different types of ice cream and some Tarragon leaves.
Some of you may remember, I recently moved. And when I say recently, I mean my life is still in boxes and at least twice a day someone calls out, “Do you know where the box with XYZ is?” Except when it’s the littles it sounds more like this, “Mama! Find blocks box!”
My view as a I type this. Actual boxes in my actual house. Send help.
This is my first grocery trip in the new house. (Check out the new background for the obligatory bargain brag shot.) We only moved across town, so our dry goods and some frozen meats came with us. Maybe that’s why I played it so fast and loose this trip. I had some idea of what I had…or what I thought I had. Moving distorted my concept of making food. The actual process become a mystery to me. It was like the feeling when you say a word so many times that you lose the meaning. I couldn’t really wrap my head around where utensils were, and also pans, and do I even own cooking utensils anymore? Like, what even is a plate?
So here I am at the grocery store, trying to remember how stoves work, and my children just want to eat pepperoni and bananas, which all of a sudden seems like a great idea. We bought three different types of ice cream. I got Tarragon leaves. I have never used Tarragon leaves, but they were on clearance and I love spices, and also, spices is a funny word, so throw some spices in that cart. Seriously, ya’ll, I barey remember this grocery trip. Like my brain is trying to protect me from my haphazard shoppig. When it came time for the picture taking I was a little surprised. When did I buy asiago cheese? Even typing this up, I feel like l I need to explain all my crazy choices. Cream cheeses were Buy 5, they’re each a $1! I swear I didn’t just buy 5 cream cheeses for no good reason!
My actual face after this grocery trip.
