Have you been watching the blog and seeing how the stores are doing Black Friday this year?
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m stressed out already. Different sales, different weeks- blergh! I love curling up with my spreadsheets and going through the digital ads, making my list and checking it twice. Now though, knowing I have to keep track of when a sale is valid too, whew y’all. It doesn’t feel quite as fun.
This year I’m not planning on doing any in-store shopping, which is also an extra crimp in my style. Still, I’m definitely going to make my Black Friday spreadsheets, because it can be overwhelming trying to keep track of which store has what deal!
I like to include the store name, item name, price- and then I also like to mark it if a competitor is offering something at a similar price! One year the difference between Target Blu Rays and Walmart Blu Rays was something like 3 cents. I make sure to include the list of items I am interested in at all stores, because if they sell out at the cheaper store, I don’t mind spending the extra 3 cents. Sometimes, the difference between stores can be several dollars, so it pays to check.
I also like to know about rewards. Can I save $10 at Walmart now, but earn $20 in Kohl’s Cash at Kohl’s later? Would I rather have $10 in my pocket now or $20 in KC later? How does this effect the price of the item? It pays to know- and to have a plan for something like Kohl’s Cash or gift cards you may earn while you shop.
Am I a little nutty? Yes. I enjoy this though. I know folks that just roll up to the store day of and get what they get. There is no wrong way to shop. Just remember a little preparation here and there can lead to big savings later.
Also: Don’t forget to look for necessities, like cat litter or Seresto flea collars for the pets. There are some great savings to be had! I love to stock up where I can, so I always budget accordingly.
On to the earnings!
I’m still waiting on a focus group payout! I don’t mind admitting I’m getting a little twitchy, it’s been a week now. Still, it’ll be worth the wait when it credits. I’m in a bit of a down cycle. Several items are close to being ready to cash out- and I could technically cash out again on Swagbucks, but I really like getting those first redemption of the month discounts.
