This Creamy Garlic Pasta is a fantastic alternative to alfredo sauce. You can make this as a main dish (add some grilled chicken) or as a side dish (pairs nicely with lemon pepper chicken).
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2¼ tsp garlic paste or minced garlic
- 3 tbsp room temp cream cheese
- 3 heaping tbsp sour cream
- ⅛ c lemon juice
- 1 box angel hair pasta
- Cook noodles as directed on box.
- Over low heat, melt butter and mix garlic in well.
- Add in cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
- Add in lemon juice and mix well.
- Stir in noodles. This is a very thick sauce so it will easily coat an entire box of pasta.

As with most recipes, sometimes people need to tweak them depending on their health needs. But none the less, we appreciate the dinner ideas. It definitely helps answer that “what’s for dinner” question we must face each day.
So with that in mind, as an alternative you could use plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Also, Kraft has a 1/3 fat cream cheese. These small changes would then allow for the real butter in the recipe. And a little grated parmesan cheese on top would be delicious.
Putting both sour cream, cream cheese and butter is so unhealthy-swap out some of these ingredients with some lighter ingredients-like adding some olive oil to cooked pasta, some salt, chopped tomatoes, and some grated cheese.
