My husband loves taco pizza from a certain fast food chain. I knew there had to be a healthier version of it I could make though. So I came up with this alternative. He said it actually tastes better!
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 envelope taco seasoning mix
- 1 can Crescent Rolls
- 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
- 2-3 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese (or cheddar)
- ½ cup chopped tomatoes
- 4 green onions, chopped
- Preheat oven to 350
- Brown ground beef and drain. Add taco seasoning and water according to package.
- Open crescent rolls but do not separate. Lay them out on a cookie sheet (be sure to spray with non-stick cooking spray). Mash all of the seams together so it forms 1 solid rectangle.
- Bake for roughly 8 minutes or until top starts to slightly golden. Then remove from oven.
- Put refried beans in a bowl and heat in the microwave for about a minute. (This warms them up enough to be easily spreadable.)
- Spread a thin layer of refried beans on top of the crescent rolls. Top with ground beef, cheese, tomatoes, and onions.
- Put back in the oven for another 5 minutes to let the cheese melt.

No, WAY!! I love taco pizza, but have never found a good recipe. I CANNOT wait to try this out. I order at Casey’s Taco Pizza everytime I visit my parents (a ten hour drive). We pick it up on the way into town, and have dinner with them. I am so excited to try this I cannot even tell you :) I know our readers would love to see this, too! Our Weekly All Things Thursday Link Up party is going on now at allthingswithpurpose.com, and we would LOVE for you to join us :) Hope to see you soon!!
What a great idea! I’ve pinned this and am looking forward to trying this next week. Stopping by from Lil Luna :)

PS- We love Disney too :)
Yum! A similar dish was one of my mom’s favorite quick dinners, and I sometimes make it for my family. Consider trying cornbread batter for the crust–it won’t taste as much like the fast-food version, but it’s delicious and healthier than that canned dough. Here’s my recipe for Mexican Pizza.
Yum, this looks so good!! Found you through Recipe Sharing Monday!
What a fun dinner idea! I think my little guy would love this. Thanks for linking this up to Monday Funday!
Sounds & looks yummy!!!
They do sell crescent roll dough without seams.
I’ll have to look for them!
