If your plastic storage containers are starting to smell there is no need to replace them just yet. There is an easy fix. Just place crumpled up newspaper inside and seal the lid tightly. Let it sit for a couple days and the smell will be gone! Just make sure you wash it before you use it again.

This isn’t about odors, but it *is* about plastic containers. I spray a bit of cooking spray into my plastic containers before I put in anything that might stain (taco meat, chili, etc.) them. Then, I don’t have to worry about stains from the food becoming permanent on the plastic and clean up is a breeze.
I think the newspaper odor removing tip would also work well with coolers being stored. I’ve tried leaving a box of baking soda in my cooler, too.

Remember, Tupperware® Brand products are warranted by Tupperware against chipping, cracking, breaking or peeling under normal non-commercial use for the lifetime of the product. Of course some things don’t apply (like discoloration and odors, cuts from knives, melting if it touches hot metal, etc.) so be sure to check with your Tupperware representative!
