This tip comes from my reader Marci…
I have a little boy who does not like the crust on his bread and he eats a ton of sandwiches. I save the crust in a bag and let it dry out, when I have enough I put it in the food processor with some Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese and make our own bread crumbs to use on several things.

I have been planning on doing this forever. Did not think about the food proessor, though. Will make it so easy!
I make my own cracker crumbs with left over small amounts of misc crackers. We seem to end up with crumbles Goldfish in the bottom of the bag/carton or that handful of wheat thins that end up stale. I take those and put in a freezer bag and put in the freezer. I crumb them in a blender and coat fish or chicken and use in meatloaf/meatballs. Super yummy!
That is BRILLIANT!! I always feel bad throwing out the heels of the bread, but no one will eat them! Now I have a use for them! Woot!! Thanks for sharing!!
We love fresh bread crumbs! I save the heels of bread, any kind but our fave is from potato, and freeze. When I need breadcrumbs I throw a few pieces in the food processor – did this just last night for our meatloaf, yum. I will try with the seasoning and Parm cheese, thanks for the tip!
