This awesome tip comes to us from my reader Barbie…
I saw the post on the Mickey shaped cheese and laughed because my kids have been eating Mickey, Mini, Nemo, princess, hearts, flowers, cowboys, and just about any other shape cheese you can think of for as long as they have been eating cheese. I buy my cheese on sale and cut it into slices and then, using my cookie cutters, I cut out the cute shapes my kids love. I put the trimmings in a bag and use them when I am making a recipe that uses shredded cheese.
I attached a few pictures of my little guys afternoon snack. He picked out the star shape and I including my homemade “cookie cutter” (2 lids and a knife) of Mickey to show that anyone can make one. Another way to make any shape you want is to simply printing off (or draw) the shape on a piece of cardstock, cutting it out and then using a sharp knife, cut around the cheese, bread, pineapple or cookie dough to make the shape. (I’m not an artist, that is suppose to be Minnie.)
Instead of cutting the crust off of my cousin’s sandwiches with a knife, my aunt always used cookie cutters, and I always thought it was brilliant and so fun!!
It’s definitely more fun! :)
I once found this a few months back, hope it helps!

I believe the point of this post is that you don’t have to pay for that very cheese. :-)
Brilliant! I love that idea & it saves $$$. You are a genius.
