Today’s tip comes from Siobhan who blogs at Money Dearest:
Since we get free sample sizes of shampoo all the time and they are such a pain to deal with, why not squeeze them all into an empty shampoo bottle. It’ll make one bottle of easy to use shampoo without having to deal with all those tiny containers/little packages!

Why? It sounds like an excessive amount of time wasted (and mess) when you can use them straight out of the little containers.
I take the samples with me when we go camping. I have 4 daughters, so when we are all trying to shower, the samples are perfect instead of having to bring and carry bottles of shampoo and conditioner.
That’s a good idea! I have so many samples and little bottles from hotels … I don’t find travel to be a good time to use them, because when we travel, we usually stay in hotels, and they have plenty of stuff.
I should have said all of the same free samples. Because it seems to me they are always pantene or head and shoulders! :)
Or the ones you bring back from hotel stays!
I also use mine for travel and guest bathroom items.
Also, I once read you shouldn’t mix things like this because they are all made differently and you can end up creating something that could cause you problems with your hair- I think the person said some of the ingredients in various shampoos can react to each other?
I keep them in my travel toiletry bag and they really are great when I go out of town. I also put some in my guest bathroom in case anyone forgets any toiletries at home. And I give some of them away too. I really like to try the actual products so I don’t think I will be mixing them together. Sometimes I find a new favorite product this way! :)
Saving them and using them on vacation is good. If you have never tried the product then using it to truly see if you like it is also good. But if you get so much that you want to put it into a bottle then I suggest that you donate it to charity where I would imagine smaller sized items would especially be appreciated. Unless you really need it because of course charity begins at home. After coupons there is so little that I can’t get in full size for cheap or free. Just a suggestion.
I save my samples and use them up when I go on vacation, their easy to throw in my bag and don’t take up much room. Plus it’s kind of fun to try out the different products.
