When you have a t-shirt that is worn, tattered or doesn’t fit anymore, don’t throw it out! Cut up the usable parts of it for rags! (Usable parts would be the back and the front as long as there is no screen printing on it)
We use these rags for dusting, cleaning up spills, washing the car and more! To clean them, I just toss them in a load of clothes that I’m bleaching. It doesn’t always get the stains ou but we’re just using them for “dirty” jobs anyway! And when they get tattered and yucky, I just throw them out!
Thanks to Tabitha at Saving Toward A Better Life for that tip!
Be sure to catch up on all the previous Let’s Save Some Money posts.
We also do this with old worn out bath towels. They make great cleaning rags too.
I found a template online how to turn old tshirts into cloth diaper prefolds or flats (the kind you use with a cover). That’s what I usually do with our old shirts — or turn them into cloth wipes.
