Here’s a tip from reader Marva:
To prevent your celery from going limp and becoming useless, take out of the cellophane bag, cut off bottom, separate into several small groups and wrap in aluminum foil, then put into crisper drawer of fridge. Instead of tossing out nasty celery in one month- this will last for 3-4 months.

Can’t wait to try this, my kids go on Celery kicks, eat half a pkg and then they are done. Guinea pig eats it too, but he never makes it through the whole pkg before it gets yucky!
This is a neat tip. You can probably use that aluminum foil over and over. I have some Food Saver Green boxes that also work well.
This is so great the other day I had to toss out celery, now I know thank you!
I do something a little different to make celery last longer, and it makes a quick and easy snack… I cut them into “sticks” and put them into a tupperware container filled with water. I find they last longer and stay really crisp.
I slice mine up & freeze it, because nobody here eats it raw and I only use it in soups. It freezes great!
Nice! I will have to try this. My kids occasionally like a peanut butter and celery stick snack, but not often enough that the celery doesn’t go bad.
I don’t usually even cut the end off, just wrap it in foil adn put it in the crisper. It really does stay crisp for a long time!
Thanks! Great tip!
I have the Tupperware celery keeper from way back when does a wonderful job as does the very old lettuce keeper.. They don’t make alettuce keeper like theone I have any more. Love my old TW
Tupperware has some really great containers for things like this too! Actually I’m taking up an order to get in by tonight!!! I only need $60 by tonight to stay as an active consultant because I’ve been out of the loop for awhile! :)
