Here are more tips on saving on Fast Food beverages besides drinking plain water:
1. Carry soda in your car. Ask for a cup of ice and pour your can of soda in the cup.
2. Carry flavor packs like Crystal Light or Lipton Tea. Use it to flavor a cup of ice water.
3. Carry Lipton Cold Brew packets. Use it to brew your own tea.

When traveling, on the road, I pack a cooler with our favorite drinks. When we make meal stops, its water with the meal and nobody complains, knowing that the fun drinks are in the car for snacking.
If you are eating in the restaurant, always go for the cheapest drink option (usually a buck). You may have to make more than one trip to the soda fountain, but why spend the extra if you don’t have to?
At Pizza Hut ask for a 2 liter rather than ordering individual drinks. It’s 2.99 at our local one (a LOT for a 2 liter) BUT STILL cheaper than $1.89 per glass. I 2nd the adding lemon and sugar to water, drop in flavorings like Kool aid fizzies, and getting drinks with NO ice.
This is kind of my version of your first tip. I like my soda cold, and adding warm soda to ice doesn’t get it cold enough right away and it’s kind of watered down so I will grab one straight out of my fridge if we are close, if not I pack an insulated lunch bag.
McDonalds has $1 any size, so I get an extra large, an extra cup, and share it with the hubby :)
We buy a large drink and split it :).
I will put lots of lemons in my free water and then use sweeter to make my own (free) lemonade!
Also, if you do decide to buy a drink, as for it with no ice. That way, you are getting more for your money! You can even ask for a seperate small cup of ice to pour your other drink into, so it does not get watered down as fast.
