This tip comes from my reader Jen…
My Mom works at a doctor’s office where the gowns come in plastic bags. They also have these bags at x-ray facilities and the like.
I find the bags to come in handy for cleaning out the litter box, cleaning up after the cat, putting in the garbage when cutting up veggies, etc.
I have easy access to them, but if you know someone who works at a medical facility you can ask them to save the bags for you. At the very least, you can pass along the tip to the medical staff. One of the lab workers said she would start saving them for when her kids go swimming, to store the wet bathing suits and keep the other clothes dry.

We try to use reusable bags (or remember to say “I don’t need a bag” before the cashier starts loading up our purchases), but inevitably forget often enough that we have quite a few plastic grocery store bags.
Did you know that they sell garbage cans sized just right for grocery store bags? We got ours from The Container Store. It’s perfect!
