Reader Christie shared with us a tip on saving on holiday decorations and gifts all year long AND how to stay organized while doing it:
Keep your holiday decorations in bins labeled by holiday (Christmas, Easter, etc.), and at the after-holiday clearance sales, stock up not just on decor for the next year but on non-perishable gifts. Keep those gifts in the bin with the corresponding holiday decorations, and when that holiday rolls around, you’ll already have gifts purchased! For example last year, I purchased Christmas-themed coloring books, pencils, and ormanents for up to 90% off, and Easter Play-Doh eggs and Little People for 90% off.
When the holidays have come around this year, I’ve already got lots of little goodies, and I knew right where to find them. They didn’t take up any extra space since they were tucked into the decorations bins. For me, it’s a lot easier than having one big gift closet that keeps gifts for all holidays.
Don’t forget, I’m always looking for great money saving tips, so be sure to share yours!

I just went to CVS on Saturday and they had all of their Easter stuff for 90% off! I got lots of eggs and decorations. I think I’m all set for next Easter and I only spent about about $4!
