Here’s a tip from a friend of mine at Saving Toward A Better Life:
When you buy Martha White (or similar) muffin mixes it calls for 1/2 cup of milk and makes 6 muffins. I’ve found you can use 2/3 cup of milk and it makes 8 muffins and you can’t tell a difference! This makes one pack of muffins enough for my family! I don’t have to make 2 packs and have muffins leftover.

I need to try this. We are family of 6, and anything baked disappears quickly. Love this Master List! It is Huge!
Such a great tip!!! I am going to try!!
My husband told me about this tip from your site last night. My daughter and I have our first batch made with 2/3 cup milk ready to pop in the oven. :-D
Funny, I just did this! Didn’t know how well it would work but that 2/3 cup was the amount of milk left in the jug, so I just dumped it in and they turned out perfect! Glad I now have conformation that it works all the time! :).
Will have to try that, thanks! I also the mini muffin pans filling them less & making my own bite size treats, this also works for cookie dough & brownies. If using frozen cookie dough cut it into 4 & bake in mini muffin pan also, works great for snacks & lunches
Those are great ideas!
I’m trying out new ideas all the time before we drive to Disney next year!!! The cookies don’t leave a ton of crumbs either cause they are bite size!
I like this tip, thanks! Good to know. Thank you for sharing it.
