Reader Ellen shared this tip and it’s so simple but I love it. I think we all need this reminder sometimes!
USE WHAT YOU HAVE.
Simple to say, sometimes harder to do. Sometimes, we’re tempted to order pizza, stop at the drive thru, or pick up items at the grocery store that aren’t on sale when we have plenty at home that you could use. Or you may want to buy a new outfit for something special when you have something in your closet that would work fine. Think you need to buy new items for the house, we you can simply rearrange what you’ve got for a new look.
Instead of looking at what you don’t have, use what you do have and save money!
Don’t forget, I’m always looking for your best money saving tip, so please share!

Yes…I was going to a really fancy affair recently, and thought I was going to have to buy a new purse, jewelry etc., just to wear for that one day! I couldn’t bear to spend the money. Then I asked around, and realized that many people around me had plenty of those things they have worn once for such occasions stored away. I had plenty to choose from and ended up borrowing a lovely bag, a beautiful strand of pearls, and so on. I enjoyed the night much more knowing how much money I saved!
Yes, so true. I was wanting to make some really cute, homemade cards. I thought I would have to go to the store to purchase supplies. Then after checking my craft box, I realized I already had cardstock, ribbon, stencils, papers, etc etc. The cards turned out really cute!
