A Magical Moment at Walt Disney World is when something extremely amazing happens to you or your family. This Magical Moment can include being given an extra FASTPASS, experiencing an incredible Meet and Greet with a character, being sprinkled with Pixie Dust, etc. If you have had a Magical Moment at Disney, I want to hear about it!
Our most Magical Moment happened on our May 2010 trip. We were on the last day of the trip and we were having a rough morning. We were late getting to the Magic Kingdom, I tripped and fell and brought Emily down with me (luckily we were fine) and it was getting so crowded! We were rushing to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway when Alice came skipping up to us and asked us if the kids could ride with her and the White Rabbit in the tea cups. Of course we agreed and I made a movie of it!
I am not sure if she still rides with a child each morning. You just have to be in the right place at the right time to be chosen.

My family and I were at the bus station at the boardwalk and there was a bus with magical moments as the destination. The driver asked where everyone was going and luckily for us they, like us, were going to Disney Springs. This was the same vacation when our room got upgraded and since one of us broke our sunglasses the cast members saw she replaced them at no charge!:) We also took the safari and we got caught in a literal “girrafic” jam and we got to see the male lion move afterwards we saw to female lions fighting it was truly magical.:)
In 2005, my husband and I got off the plane, and went to Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day. Our first stop was for a snack, and my husband got a Dole Whip and I got fresh pineapple. While we were enjoying it, I noticed Rafiki coming up behind my husband, and he puts his finger up to his lips telling me to be quiet. He goes up to my husband and rubs his head. The look on my husband’s face was priceless. The fun didn’t end there, he grabbed my pineapple and ran off with it. He was kind enough to bring it back eventually. It was an amazing way to start our trip, and especially wonderful because as an adult, I wouldn’t have thought to do a character meet.
It was the last day of our trip and the girls really wanted to meet Tiana. The problem was that it was raining, so she wasn’t out to meet. We stayed by her area for a little bit in the morning and chatted with some awesome cast members, who told us to periodically check back. Right as we were getting ready to leave to go home, we stopped one last time. Tiana wasn’t meeting, but she was just walking back from one of the shows. I politely asked if she would mind signing the girls’ books, since we had been waiting for her all day. She said sure, and took them quickly into a back area, as not to start a crowd. We were so happy, but then she peaked out and said “ya’ll need a picture to go with this?”!!!! She made our week! So awesome!
our magical Disney moment happened in may of 2013. my daughter had just turned 5 and a Disney trip was what mommy and daddy got her for her birthday. I didn’t book the bippity boppity boutique because she didn’t like having her hair pulled back but she did want a princess dress. so we got her a snow white dress with headband and scepter. we then set and waited on the nightly parade at magic kingdom. as she saw snow white coming she stood up and waved really big, then snow white came off of her float and walked up to our daughter and kissed her on the check and then 3 of the dwarfs came up and kissed her hands. it was absolutely amazing, although she didn’t realize how special it was I sat beside her with tears rolling down my face knowing she would remember this forever. I hope the cast realizes what these little gestures do for kids (and their parents ;))
I had my Disney magic moment in May 2014. Aladdin is my all-time favorite Disney character EVER. It’s also my favorite movie. So of course, the first thing I did when I got to MK in the morning was run to the meet and greet area for Aladdin. He didn’t come out until 9:30 and I was there at 9, so there area was empty. His cast attendant started talking to me, and I explained this it was my first time at Disney since I was a child (I’m 19 now) and that Aladdin was my favorite movie. I explained that I was only there for 2 days and that I was just having an amazing time. She told me to go sit on a bench by the carpets because she had something special for me. The line started to form and at 9:30 Aladdin and Jasmine came out of a building and ran up to me. Aladdin said “Are you Katie? The genie told me all about you!” he took my hand and led me onto the magic carpet ride. It was the best Disney experience I ever had. We also got to cut the line and get the first photos of the day with him. The cast attendant who arranged this for me took photos with my phone, and I wish I could express how happy I am for all that she did for me that morning. It was truly a magical experience.
Mine isn’t specifically a Disney moment but I feel sort of like the Disney magic helped us out :) About five years ago we were at the Hollywood Studios park and we had come out of the Little Mermaid show. My wife realized her iPhone was missing after she apparently dropped it in the theater. I panicked because it was less than a year old and these were our first smart phones and I knew that a replacement would cost upwards of $400. After several minutes of trying to track her phone by using the Find My iPhone app, speed walking around the center of the park near Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat trying to follow its movement and a few of us calling her phone numerous times in hopes that someone would answer (someone did but they didn’t speak), her sister gets a voicemail from a guy who found it and called to say he was taking it guest services. What a huge relief! From that day forward I have come across two lost cell phones which were reunited with their owners.
I’m a local so this past Memorial Day Weekend, some friends and I made an impromptu trip to WDW for a night. After swimming and checking out of the hotel on Monday morning, we didn’t quite feel like ending our trip just yet. So, my friend searched for available lunch reservations and found one at The Wave at the Contemporary. We headed over there with her three year old. When we walked in to check in, the cast members at the front desk were really friendly. They gave the three year old a sticker and started chatting with her. Then, they pulled her over to a little wagon set up next to the check-in counter and told her she could pick out some fruits and/or vegetables and the chef would make her her own special dish. She picked apples, berries and potatoes. The manager took a picture of her and her mom with the food wagon. About halfway through our meal, our server brought out apple/potato hash with a berry compote to add to it. It was delicious. We had our picture taken with the finished food and then we got a little book with the pictures in it. The three year old was super excited about being named “Farmer of the Day” and the food was amazing, too!
Our family just visited DisneyWorld in May. We have always loved Wilderness Lodge and were really looking forward to our stay there this year. As it we were leaving the day after school was out and so many things were going on, I did not have time to do the online check-in before we left. As we were boarding The Magical Express, a cast member at the airport was extremely rude to us and we were not feeling so magical on the ride to Wilderness Lodge. Upon our arrival, we went to check-in and the cast member informed us that he would have to escort us upstairs to be checked in. Well, we then found out that we had “magically” been upgraded to the Club Concierge level at Wilderness! To say that it was completely amazing cannot really describe how special this made our trip! We had never had anything like this happen for our family before. This was so “magical” and wonderful that we will never forget the feeling from this trip!
My son (age 2 1/2) was dressed up as Peter Pan at MK and a cast member saw us at the end of the line (75 minutes long) for Peter Pan’s Flight. She came over and bent down to tell my son the ride can’t go on without Peter Pan. She told him Captain Hook was inside and she needed my son’s help then she took our whole family (7 of us) to the very front of the line. It was such an awesome and unexpected experience!
How sweet!
I’m 14 and I’ve been to Disney World 8 times. A corny as it sounds, every trip has at least 1 magical moment. It’s hard to pick just 1, but my absolute best memory is on my 3rd trip in 2007. I was 8 and my parents let me go to the Bibbidy Bobbidi Boutique. Of course I picked the Belle dress because she’s always been my favorite and I look just like her. After the makeover and photoshoot (y friends are still jealous that I had 1 at age 8 haha), we went to Hollywood Studios. Since most people go to Magic Kindom after the Boutique, I got special attention in the park. As soon as we walked in, 1 of the “camera people” on Hollywood Boulevard ran up to me and said “Princess Belle!” He pulled out a bran new autograph book and asked me to sign it! I was so surprised, I actually wrote Kelly, then crossed it out and wrote Belle, the crossed it out again and wrote Princess Kelly-Belle. My dad got the whole thing on video and my parents still call me Kelly-Belle 6 years later.
Later that night we went to see Fantasmic and ha the VIPseats. 1 of the setting usher came up to me and saw my lanyard and said “a pretty Proncess like you deserves a special pin” an he gave me the Tinkerbell fairy dust one that said “Year of a Million Dreams”. I still have the pin and wear it on my lanyard every trip.
Even though I’ve spent Christmas Eve in the Magic Kingdom, celebrated my birthday at Crystal Palace, and had countless other amazing Disney experiences, those 2 employees working at Hollywood Studios in August 2007 made a normal day 1 of the most special of my life. That’s why my family loves Disney, and why I can’t wait to take my family their someday.
I remember when my family and I were in Epcot we were watching an acrobatics show inside a building in China, to get out of the heat. I was sitting down on the ground, exhausted and hot, when one of the guys in charge of the show came up to me and asked me my age. I looked at my mom nervously and told him I was 9. He left after that but then came back and asked me to come with him. He took me up on stage and introduced me then told the audience I was going to speak Chinese. He kindly whispered what I needed to say into my ear. It was such a magical experience for me and definitely made my trip even more memorable
I’m 17 and I have had a few disney magic moments. The first one and my favorite memory ever was on my 6th birthday. I had breakfast at cinderellas castle and took all the photos with her in her chair. As I was walking away talking to Prince Charming, her fairy godmother and my dad, cinderella called over my mom and told her for the next day to be In front of a certain store for the parade and she would pick me out. To this day I remember waiting at least an hour before the parade and bugging my parents about wanting to go on rides but they made sure we were front. As cinderella passed by on the float she looked at my mom and waved, but it passed by and my mom was like its ok(I didn’t know) but cinderella and Prince Charming walked at least a block back to specifically pick me out like she promised my mom. This memory truly is my favorite memory of my still favorite princess
We have actually had two Magical Moments at Disney World. The first one was at Animal Kingdom. We were on one of the trails and were looking at the hippos from behind the glass wall. When we attempted to exit the area, cast members wouldn’t let us pass beyond a certain point. We assumed they were having trouble with some animals or maybe that a guest was experiencing health problems. After a few minutes we were allowed to proceed and were corraled into a small area with a few other guests. A cast member then announced that in celebration of a Year of a Million Dreams we were all going to receive Dream Fast Passes! We were astonished!
The second Magical Moment was at Toy Story Mania in Hollywood Studios. We had obtained Fast Passes so we went to the Fast Pass Entrance. I’m in the habit of looking at Cast Members’ tags to see where they are from. To my amazement the Cast Member working the Fast Pass Entrance had a tag that said she was from a town 15 minutes away from our town! I told her where we lived and she told us to put away our Fast Passes and come with her. She allowed us to get through the Fast Pass line because of where we were from! It was amazing because we were allowed to come back later in the day for another ride on Toy Story Mania!
Our first visit in 2005 was made extra special when we road the train in MK to Toon Town before it opened and just played around on Donald’s boat. A few minutes later a worker came by and told us that Mickey was going to come out soon and to go over to his house. As he came out, his helper asked us to be the family of the day. My four year old daughter was treated as Mickey’s BFF and got the grand tour of his house before any one else could come in, and then we were the first in line for pictures with all the characters. I was sad to know that Toon Town was being torn down. I am glad we have this extra special memory of our first trip.
My magic moment happened when we went to Disney World with our 3 kids. Our daughter, the youngest, was 2. We stayed on property and did the dining plan. As we mapped out our plans and set up all our dining reservations, we noticed we had an extra table service meal we weren’t going to use (this was because you get 1 set of meals for each day of your stay, and the first night we got there at 10:00 p.m.). So we booked a late dinner (8:00) reservation for Cinderella’s Royal Table. We were kinda scared this might be too late for our kids and someone might melt down. But it was the best night EVER!
My daughter though this entire experience was magical. If you’ve never eaten there, you are missing on a great dining experience. But the best part happened when the fireworks started outside. She was dying to go out so my husband & I took her outside while the boys and their grandparents stayed up at the table. While we were watching the show, Cinderella came out and sat down on the ground (in her gorgeous ball gown!!!) and let our daughter sit on her lap and watch the entire fireworks show. They cuddled, talked about their dresses, and watched the pretty fireworks. Both my husband & I were amazed. Disney has trained their cast members to look for any opportunity to make a magical day for anyone, even just a little 2 year old girl. My daughter still talks about this (she’s 5 now), and has a picture from that night of her & Cinderella on her wall. I believe it may have been her first lasting memory!
My first trip to Disney World was for my 25th birthday with my husband. Our first day of vacation was at the Magic Kingdom on my birthday. I was astounded by all the “Happy Birthdays” I got from cast members. The first ride we rode on was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and they annouced over the loudspeaker that it was my birthday. The best part was that when we got off the (best) ride, they were handing out Magical Fastpasses!! We got a Fastpass for every ride in the Magic Kingdom for that day. It was the most magical birthday I could ever ask for!!
We’ve taken our daughter once and will be going again this October. I can’t wait to take her for her fifth birthday in a few years and give her as magical of a birthday as I had!!
Cute video!
Louie from the Jungle Book came over to my son in the Animal Kingdom and started playing the drums with him, and another day Flick from Bugs Life held his hand and walked him to his photo area. These are some of my favorite pictures.
Your video is priceless!
My first trip to Disney was when my daughter was 3 1/2. We were on our to Norway to have breakfast with the Princesses long before the park had opened. During our walk, we stopped to admire the amazing flowers. My daughter was especially interested in these blooms that looked like large, round, prickly, balls. One of the gardeners noticed. He clipped one, got down on one knee, and presented the “fairest bloom for the fairest Princess in all the lands” to my daughter. At breakfast, she told each Princess that she was a Princess, too! I still get teary when I think of that magical morning!
My son has autism and Disneyland went above and beyond to accommodate our family. And that’s why we keep going back year after year!
Here’s ours: http://vermillionrules.blogspot.com/2012/03/disneyland-and-special-needs.html
We went on our first family trip to Disney last year. My daughter was in awe of everything! We were in Epcot and she got to meet Snow White – her favorite! When she would meet a character, my husband and I would stand back and let her have her moment. They stood by the well near Norway. Next thing I knew, Snow White and B had turned around and were singing together into the well! Tears were running down my face :) I was just so happy for her to have that special moment. Snow white left a big red kiss on her cheek.
The next day we were leaving Disney Hollywood Studios and she stopped to buy a lightsaber. The castmember selling them called her “Princess”. She ran over to me and said “Mommy! They know! They know I am turning into a princess! That was my wish! Dreams really do come true here! It really is the most magical place!”
Just to let you know, Alice does still ride, and Jasmine and Aladdin ride the Magic Carpets every morning as well.
Two years ago when I went with my fiancee, his two girls and his mom (the first trip for mom and the kids) we were getting on Splash Mountain and the guy running the ride saw my fiance’s Iraqi War Veteran patch on his vest and gave us 8 free fast passes. It was awesome and the kids loved that dad got special treatment for serving our country.
On my fiance’s and my trip last year we decided to create some of our own Disney magic. I am an avid pin trader so I am always looking at everyone’s lanyards when we are out and about. We were in the big pin store at Downtown Disney one afternoon when a family of four walked up to the register. Mom and dad had a little girl around 6-8 years old and a little boy in a stroller probably not even two. They were buying her a starter pin trading kit. I personally know that having a younger sibling can make doing things a little difficult when they are so small so I thought I could brighten up her day. I walked up to her parents and struck up a conversation. I then mentioned that I saw she was getting a pin trading starter kit. She was really excited about finally being old enough that her parents would let her trade pins. I asked her if I could give her something, while looking for her parent’s okay, and she said sure. She held out her hand and I pin 12 pins in it. She was so happy when she saw them and her parents couldn’t stop thanking us. Even the girl behind the register, who saw the whole thing, said “See Disney magic happens when you least expect it!” This was one of my favorite moments of all of my trips to Disney. Just the look on her face made it worth it!
HOW CUTE!!!! I THINK YOU DESERVE IT FOR ALL THE GOOD THINGS YOU DO FOR US
Last May we went took our 2 kids to Disney for their first trip. It was our very first day and spent it at the MK. It was a 92 degree day. We was not used to that kind of heat so early in the spring/summer season. We decided to take a rest and catch some breeze in Tomorrowland. While sitting a cast member approached us and asked it was my daughters first trip to Disney. A few seconds later another cast member came walking up with a HUGE bowl of all kinds of ice cream, whip cream etc. They just gave it to us to share as a family! It was so nice and it sure tasted good especially in that weather!
On my husbands birthday in 2002 we were picked as the family to open The Magic Kingdom. My boys were 5 and 4 and we were taken to Toon Town and rode the train with all the Disney characters. My boys had their autograph books and loved every minute of it. It was a lot of one on one time with all of them.
We rode in the front of the train with Mickey and when we got off the train at the front we had to grab a handful of pixie dust to throw when they counted down. We then met the Mayor and had our picture taken with her and Mickey and was given a certificate. My boys still talk about that to this day and they are 15 and 14 now.
I think that this is sooooo special. As an Adult I would love to do this. How can I do this? I’ve never seen toon town.
My most unforgettable moment was when my hubby and I were at Tokyo Disney Sea (we were stationed in Japan). Abu the monkey came up to hug me and would not leave me alone. He pestered me and followed me around and I just got the giggle so bad and couldn’t stop laughing. Thankfully, my hubby got a picture of part of it. It was super fun! I hope my kids get to experience something like that on our next trip!!
We don’t have one yet we are planning or first trip to Disney with our three children five, three and sixteen months hope to be back on here early December with or magical moment any a advice would be greatly appreciated
When we pulled in and we were actually there I think was our magical moment. It was our first trip. It was amazing, every minute, every day, it was magical and something I will treasure forever.
Their eyes lit up and they smiled from ear to ear the entire week.
When we met Buzz and the Fairies both my kids were in awe. Meeting Donald on his birthday was special. The kids had to see him on his birthday because he is my mom’s favorite character.
