Last weekend my friend Missy emailed me to let me know that she and Tammy (the lady that she was shopping with on Extreme Couponing) were making a road trip here from Orlando. So on Thursday, they drove the 12 hour drive from their house to mine and brought with them a HUGE HUGE HUGE donation for the Disaster Relief drive.
I met her at the donation hub so we could unload her van which was literally squatting! She had it packed like a sardine can and had even more on top. The volunteers were blown away and kept saying how they couldn’t believe that someone would drive all the way from Orlando to bring the items to Moody, Alabama.
After unloading all the items at the church, we went out to dinner at our local Mexican restaurant and then hit Walmart. Shopping with Missy and Tammy was so much fun! She brought a huge stack of coupons so we could get even more donations for the church.
We were all having so much fun that they decided to stay for most of the day. We went to Target where we made out like a bandit with more donations then we brought all the items along with the packages from the AMAZING readers to the donation hub. Then we had more time for another shopping trip to Walmart (this time we bought items to aid people as they fix their homes) before they had to say goodbye to drive back to Orlando. It was an awesome, fun filled 22 hours. Thank you so much Missy and Tammy and all the couponers in central Florida who contributed to the tornado victims. You are all awesome!
Ladies,
I live in Arab, Alabama and we were hit by and f4 tornado April 27th. I saw the devistation only .3 miles from my own home. Our Church, Liberty Church, immediatly set up our facility Camp Fire as a hub for safety. We fed over 1000 per day while the power was out and are continuing to feed the workers brought in to help restore our great city. We are still taking care of many families who lost their homes, approx 38 destroyed in this small town of 9000 an 5 lost their life…all in one home.
I wanted to say thank you! It is great women like you who are willing to go out of your way to help that make it possible. And actually ya’ll have inspired me to begin couponing to sock our pantry at church so that if this were to ever happen again we will be prepared. What an amazing God we serve who can send ladies with gifts for people.
I will actually be in the Orlando area, Cocoa Beach Floridia, and going to Animal Kingdom with my family the first week of June..any suggestions on deals for tickets?
Again, thank you so much for caring about others. I’m not sure we can explain what we saw, what we’ve seen or how it has caused a community to come together. So many stories to tell. My favorite is a 19 year old from our church placed his body over his Mom and two sisters to protect them from the falling trees on their home. He is my new hero!

It was truly a pleasure and honor to meet you. You inspire us to do more than we could imagine. Thank you sincerely for being such a gracious hostess.
This is fabulous! God bless all those that are sharing- my box should get there early next week? since I sent it Wed from CA. God bless all those that are receiving these donations. I pray everyday that people give in abundance that all who are in need will get their needs met. We could all be in their shoes. I am so pleased to see all of these posts on here about the way these donations keep growing. You know that I had not even heard of your site, Kristin, until looking for a place I could send my items. I’m so happy I found it and am happy to be part of this. God is at work here!
