Meet Ava, who recently visited my at home salon for a hair fix. As you can probably tell from the before picture, this doll has been through a lot. She is from Target and has been passed down from my oldest daughter to my youngest. She has been around for nearly 6 years now! However, my youngest daughter had stopped playing with her because her hair was such a mess. Instead of buying a new doll, I did this simple DIY to save her hair!
Supplies You Need:
- Fabric Softener
- Squirt Bottle (or large Bowl)
- Water
- Brush or Comb
Get Started:
Step 1: Fill squirt bottle (or large bowl) with water, add a few drops of Fabric Softener and shake (or stir).
Step 2: Spray directly on dolls hair (or dip brush/comb into bowl), and slowly start brushing out the hair.
I started with smaller pieces, spraying each one liberally, and once those were detangled I moved on. Above is what she looked like once her hair was all brushed through and still wet.
I am pretty happy with how her hair dried. My daughter immediately grabbed the doll and began to play with her so I call that a success! Not to mention, her hair smells wonderful now.
Cool! I am definitely going to try this. Thank you!
