Stamps, man- will these things every stop going up in price?
It costs 55 cents to mail a letter- and more importantly it costs 55 cents to mail a BILL now in the United States! A simple and easy savings tip I have is to pay every bill you can online- or if you go right by the physical location, swing in and drop your bill off there.
This seems like such a small thing to do, but saving the stamp from just one bill save you $6.60 across the course of the year. Don’t tell me you wouldn’t stop and pick up $6 off the ground if you found it laying there. But who only has ONE bill? By the time you pay your mortgage, water bill, credit card bill and Kohl’s bill you’ve saved $26.40 for the year- for no reason other than you paid your bill online!
Tip: Keep an eye out when you pay your bills online for “convenience charges”. My power bill adds a percentage onto the bill when if I pay online, while the rest of my bills do not. Instead, I either pay the power bill in person or use one of my precious stamps on it.
