i love how disney does those extras just to make their guests special!we always brng the soap and shampoos home. i just used the last bottle of shampoo the other day. now im working on he soaps. i love having those little mementos of the trip at home!!
we didn’t tip our mousekeeping staff on our first trip, and now we feel horrible! we had great service, too! we tipped at the end of our stay, but not daily! and now i am seeing the importance of daily tipping!! look at all the cute little surprises you are finding! we will DEFINATELY tip daily on our next trip!
Our family also brings our favorite stuffed toys from home. We are always excited to see how they leave our toys and towels, reading glasses, hats, etc…Sometimes we will leave a thank you note for the “Mousekeeping Staff” hoping to return a little “Disney magic” to their day. The feeling of doing something nice for someone else was enough of a reward, but boy they really decorated our room and even left an autograph picture of Ariel for my daughter and aMickey for my son! They are now 21 and 14 and they still talk about it. You gotta love that place!
So cute!! Always a nice surprise to come back to. I have been reading everyday to see what they will do next!! So excited for you all!! Wish we were there with you!!
I love the Mickey shampoos and soaps. In fact I won’t let anyone use them because I collect them and bring them home. And then once we’re home I still won’t let anyone use them. Is that weird or what? I like to look at them, so I put them in a basket on display BUT no one can use them. It’s my little piece of Disney vacation heaven. Yes, my name is Denise and I’m a Disney nut. LOL.
I am just loving your posts! I live in FL but I am in GA right now. I can’t WAIT to go home next week and get to Disney! We LOVE to stay at Pop Century.
Mickey saw Minnie watching tv yesterday so he had to grab the remote. Isn’t that just what a guy would do? Was he watching sports?
Love the Mickey bath supplies — we stock up when we go to Disney too, and dole them out carefully at home. I have a half-worn down Mickey soap in my bathroom now!
Love the pictures, We stay every year on site at Disney, We love our mousekeepers, we have had the best in the past several years, We have come back to dinosaurs, rabbits, swans, mickey ears, etc. Once they made a dinosaur with ehtowels had it on a shelf overlooking the room with a leaf in its mouth, how fun it was, The mousekeepers are always doing silly things with my daughters stuffed animals, We have walked to our room having the stuffed animals hanging in the window( it was a monkey) and they had put my son’s sunglasses on the monkey, I have never laughed so hard, they had the window slightly opened ( not enough for you to see in the room) where everyone could see the monkey hanging around. We love the soaps and shampoo, I also have spare room in my bags for that stuff, and I do as many of your other readers, donate and use in extra bathroom for overnite guest. They always ” should have known we would have disney soap and shampoo)
We live in Fl and go to DIsney frequently, but your posts make me want to go to Disney too. Great posts and I didn’t know there was a wordpress app for phones. I will be putting that app on my phone too.
They say $1 a day per person. We are a family of 4 and we always put $5 in our Mousekeeping envelope. If we have exceptional care (which we usually do) and had one particular Mousekeeper for most of the week, I will fill an additional envelope for her at the end of our stay and personally deliver it to her with an additional $20. It is nice to spread the magic.
Very nice! I went to Disney World a couple of times with my family when I was younger, but the last time was 14 years ago, and we never stayed on-site. Your posts have definitely made me want to go back and to stay on-site.
My 16-month-old got a Mickey like that for Christmas. Shortly after Christmas, she started kissing it and her other stuffed animals on the nose. We didn’t understand where she got that idea, nor why she kissed them and not us, lol. Anyway, we now know why she does it … she is imitating my husband and I when we kiss goodbye/hello on the lips! She grabbed my husband’s face and kissed him on the lips yesterday! Oh boy … we’re going to try to do more kissing on the cheek in front of her so she imitates that …
I love the Disney soaps and shampoos, especially the H20 spa line. I use the samples for the rest of the year when I travel or, like many others, need a little Pixiedust pick-me-up.
Love the mousekeeping staff!! On one of our trips my daughter brought her Scooby Doo stuffed animal and we found him watching TV with snacks all around him! It was so cute!
Glad to see I’m not the only one who keeps the soaps and shampoos. We usu. end up donating them or putting them in the guest bathroom when we have overnight guests. Kinda like our own lil’ B&B.
I’ve actually never stayed at a Disney resort, but after seeing all these fun pics, it makes me want to..we will have to keep that in mind for our next trip, thank you for sharing w/us :)
There really is nothing like staying on Disney property. There are great deals to be had during off peak season, esp at the economy All Star resorts. You can go to the WDW website and order a vacation planning video, which usually tours the different levels of accommodations that they offer. Plus, if you book a stay during one of their many promotions, they’ll often throw in the Disney dining plan for free!
We also use to leave little surprise in the room. He believes they were from Mickey Mouse. He thought Mickey was watching him and would only leave it if he were good.
When my son was three he would collect the soap and hide it. He was so impressd it had Mickey on it. He was also impressed that he would hid it and more would magically appear.
That is so cute! i love when they do these little extras! I have a question for all of you… do you leave the whole tip at the end of the trip or some each day for the mousekeeper? We are going back in Sept. and wasn’t sure how everyone does it. I just left the lump sum at the end, but was wondering if I should leave some each day?
Staying on site for the 1st time next month and have been reading different blogs & forums. They say to leave it each day because its not always the same mousekeeper each day.
Lisa is absolutely right! Leave it each and every morning because you aren’t always going to have the same person. My boys love making out special envelopes for the Mousekeepers with little stickers and coloring all over them. It’s nice being able to just grab an envelope out of the safe each morning and put it out just before we head out the door as well!
I love that shampoo so so much. When I ran out of the supply I brought back home, I actually went to the website on the back of the bottle and splurged on a full bottle of it.
Hope you’re having nice weather! We’ve got a snow day here!
I love their soaps and shampoos!! I still have some from our last trip. We use them every once in awhile when we want to feel a little bit of Disney. :)
Love the mousekeeping surprises. The kids get so excited. The extra soaps and shampoos come in handy at home when you need that little Disney touch!!! Vacations go too fast. Enjoy.
Too cute! I always love to see what they are going to do. Last year we came back to all of the girls stuffed animals lined up to look like they were ready to go down a slide they had made with a blue garbage bag on the bed!! The kids did not want to move it! This is one of the many many reasons I love Disney!!!
I had planned on not bringing shampoo and using theirs but now I think I will bring my own and save theirs for a say when I need a disney pick up! Heaven knows I am collecting enough small bottles and samples of shampoo and body wash! BTW got myself signed up for disney movie rewards and already have enough points for the fanny pack but it is out of stock. Do they restock them? I want two of them and maybe three. I see you wear a fanny pack, do your kids?
Aww thats so cool… I love your mousekeepers!
What a great surprise !
Can’t wait till Sept and we are back! Makes me want to go right now!
I love this idea, will do the same when we go later this year.
I think some of the hotels have “tuck in” service where a charactor visits the room…not sure if they have it but you should check while you are there.
i love how disney does those extras just to make their guests special!we always brng the soap and shampoos home. i just used the last bottle of shampoo the other day. now im working on he soaps. i love having those little mementos of the trip at home!!
What cute lil soaps and shampoos..I call them “free souvineers”
mousekeeping makes it fun!
Made envelopes last time with the kids but since this time will be a surprise, I guess I will have to make them myself.
This is soo cute:)
cute!
Love all the magical things that moussekeeping comes up with. Thanks for the pics.
Sorry, mousekeeping.
Love the Mickey holding the remote! We also take our stuffed animals to see what Mousekeeping comes up with.

So fun! We always take our animals too – plus add one new one each trip – so fun!
What a great thing to come home to each night!
We love it when Mousekeeping makes a party for our stuffed animals! Always brings a smile to our faces when we walk back into the room!

That Mickey. Did he catch up on his stories?
Great surprise!

MMMM< the smell of that shampoo puts me right back at the big D!
Even Mickey needs to take a break!
How much tip should we leave? I think we are going in May.

I love the Disney soaps and shampoos, especially the H20 spa line. I use the samples for the rest of the year when I travel or, like many others, need a little Pixiedust pick-me-up.
I think it is great that they think to do things like that. Trying to give you some extra magic on your trip.
Love it, that is so cute and funny !!!
Our Mousekeeper gave us a bunch of extra shampoos and soaps every day. I brought home enough for our selves and our grandchildren.
So fun! i love that the housekeeping look for ways to make all parts of your stay fun!
if you don’t use the soaps that are at the resorts save them and give them to shelters they can really use them.
love it! You don’t get things like this staying off site!
Love the mousekeeping staff!! On one of our trips my daughter brought her Scooby Doo stuffed animal and we found him watching TV with snacks all around him! It was so cute!

What a nice little bonus everyday. I love those trial size shampoos, conditioners and what is wrapped up? Is it soap? So cute.
That crazy Mickey Mouse never sleeps!! :) He’s always up to something. :)
He really is! :)
We always bring our stuffed animals too. We have even found them all hanging out in the window or watching tv all together. Kids always love it!!
LOVE IT!
Another reason why Disney is the most magical place one earth.
Adorable! That is always a nice surprise after a long day exploring the parks!
Too cute! Glad you got such wonderful mousekeepers!
Love it, that was one of the favorites of my kids, when their plush animals were with the remote. So cute.
Too cute! I always love to see what they are going to do. You’ve had some great Mousekeepers on your trip!
I love it that you ‘extra tip’ the mousekeeping staff. I think so many people don’t do it – and they work so darn hard! Good for you :).
