On our recent Christmas trip, we headed to one of our favorite spots in Epcot to grab a snack- Karamell Küche in Germany! You might know this as the place with the incredible caramel popcorn and a ton of other amazing treats. I’m also partial to their cupcakes.
While there, something new caught my eye- this gorgeous caramel gingerbread cookie sandwich! Priced at $5.99, I knew this was a sweet use for one of my dining plan snack credits.
Oh.My.Gosh, you guys, I’m so glad I only bought one.
Not because it was bad- actually, this is the best gingerbread I’ve ever had. It was soft and moist. It held together beautifully, but was still soft enough that my fingers left indentations from trying to get a cute picture for y’all. Inside is an incredible buttercream icing filling, with a fun squiggle of caramel. I didn’t get a big taste of caramel, but I got a mouthful of perfectly spiced gingerbread and exquisite buttercream. It paired together beautifully, the sweetness meshing with the spice for a heavenly bite. I’m drooling, just thinking about it. Do you think they ship?
This treat is incredible- and we shared it among the three of us. It’s not conventionally huge- you won’t look at it in the case and go WOW, that could feed a small army, but it’s DENSE and thick. Can you see my hand trembling in the picture? That’s only a little anticipation, mostly it’s because this treat is HEAVY.
I would definitely recommend sharing it with someone you love, or even someone that you only like a little bit, because I think a full sandwich cookie each would have left us feeling floundered and maybe with the sugar shakes. As it was, we went back later in the week for another perfect cookie and chose to share it again, where we could enjoy the flavors without grabbing our stomachs and groaning.
That being said, I’m not your mom. If you want to enjoy this cookie all for yourself, live your best life and go for it!
