I haven’t updated you all on my weight loss efforts in about a month. I have really been struggling with the stress in my life that I haven’t been able to get on the diet and actually stick with it. I am an emotional eater.
First I had to deal with the stress of the one year anniversary of the date I lost my 3rd child. I took it so hard. I always thought I could handle death and loss well, but when you lose your own child it just takes it toll on your heart.
That same week that I lost my child is also the week that my father in law passed away in 2008. That is always hard on the entire family. He was such a good man.
That depressing time was followed by the wonderful week at Disney. And even though I would have liked to have stayed on my diet during the trip, well I didn’t. There is just so much good food there!
The week after we got back from Disney, my mother in law had to have a joint replaced in her hand. That is a very difficult surgery with an 8 month recovery time. My mother in law lives just 10 minutes from us and we see each other every day. Luckily my brother in law and his wife came to help with her recovery but I was still there every day to help where I could and just spend some time with everyone.
That was followed by Thanksgiving. Sigh.
And now here we are the first of December.
The hardest part of any diet is the first couple of days. Once you get past those first few days it’s smooth sailing until you I get stressed out. So each day I keep trying to start and stick with Medifast.
Medifast is so wonderful and supportive of my efforts. They have a nutritionist, a behavior counselor and even a personal trainer on staff who are happy to talk with me at any time during the business day. I am blown away by the support and compassion from this company. And it isn’t a service that they provide just to me because they are sponsoring my weight loss efforts, it’s a service anyone who is on Medifast can use.
I weighed myself today and it wasn’t as bad as I had though. I am up 5 pounds from where I was when I got stressed out and quit the diet. So at least I don’t have that far to go to get to where I was before. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers during this coming week. Weight loss is such a struggle.
If you want to try Medifast with me (I warn you, it is not an inexpensive diet but when you consider that you won’t be buying a lot of groceries for yourself, it’s not bad. Plus you can’t put a price tag on being thin…), Medifast gave me a code for $50 off your $275 purchase. Just enter Disney50 at checkout.
*FTC Disclosure: Medifast provides their products for my personal use for free. I am not paid or compensated in any other way for mentioning their products (although I want to shout from the rooftops about my success which you know the results are ‘not typical’). All thoughts and opinions here on my blog are 100% mine. I am very inspired to be given this amazing opportunity, and I want to share my success with all my readers friends. Thank you for reading my blog. It’s because of your tremendous support and encouragement that I was given this opportunity. And that means more to me than words can say.

Kristin,
Don’t give up! The desire to change is half the battle. Just keeping thinking why it is that you’d like to lose weight and keep that in mind. I will be praying for you.

Thank you for sharing. It is so hard isn’t it,but I’ve been thinking about that and remembering how the Bible says that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens me. That renews my hope. Don’t give up.

Kristin,
Someone told me the other day something that made me think of your loss. Someone said to a mother who had lost her child that they couldn’t believe God had created the child to live for such a short time, and the mother responded “He didn’t. He created them to live forever.” Since I know you are a Christian I wanted to share that with you.

Kristin new day and a new opportunity to start fresh! I feel equally frustrated about my blog. I started with hopes of being this insightful blog about my groupon experience but health issues have knocked my focus around a bit. I will not give up though. If other people can have a successful blog so can I.
