What are your New Year Resolutions? I’ve only kept one resolution and it changed my life. In 2008, my resolution was to learn how to coupon. To really, really learn how to coupon. I had couponed off and on for years. I had my little coupon box where I kept coupons, but I would either forget it or use the coupons on products that I wouldn’t normally buy.
I started small, with just one store. But by the end of January, I had over a 2 year supply of laundry detergent and toilet paper! I was hooked. I spent the year saving so much money and really revolutionizing our spending. I learned everything I could and it is my plan to spend 2015 sharing all of that knowledge with you.
I hear so many people say that they find couponing confusing. They try, but it is too time consuming or difficult to grasp the concepts behind it. So this year, I plan to change the mindset. To really help everyone figure this all out and save as much money as you can!
So that is my New Year Resolution. To be the best teacher and mentor that I can be. To help you all learn how to save money and achieve your financial dreams.

Oh I would love to really learn to coupon! I do a little and sometimes I get a couple really good shopping trips, but it’s not consistent. It would really help us if we could save some extra money for retirement and house repairs. Thank you for putting your website together and helping us learn!

I was very encouraged by your resolution in 2008 and then happy to read your new one for this year….everything you said is true !! Learning all of this can be mind boggling some days !! Like others have said, the recession put us in a hole…we make ends meet (most of the time ;-) but I would like to be better at that !! So just a BIG thank you for all you do !!

And we’re all better off because of your resolution! I used to coupon more, but since the recession I have switched to Save A Lot so I don’t use many. I’m also making more of my own stuff and doing without.
I do my best not to spend because I’m just trying to keep up with bills and put money away for retirement. Instead of buying something w/a coupon and putting the savings towards something, I just don’t buy it unless absolutely necessary.
I do love my emergency fund. I’ve had to empty it a few times for hubby’s truck repairs, then my daughter drove through the garage door, so now I used it for that. I build it back up and something else happens.
I’m hoping for a less (expensive) eventful 2015!
