My entire life I have prayed for a White Christmas. And yesterday we had the first White Christmas in recorded history here in Birmingham, AL. I firmly believe that it was a gift from Heaven. A gift from my son and my grandfather who passed away this year, my father in law who passed away in 2008 and so on and so on. It gave me tremendous peace and happiness.
I saved some in the freezer. We will see how long it lasts.
As much as I was dreading this Christmas, it turned out to be one of the best ones I have ever had. And all of your prayers for me this holiday season were so appreciated. I hope your Christmas was as great as mine was.
Just 6 days until we leave for Disney! I can’t wait to share that experience with all of you.
What a beautiful family =) I’m so happy for you, Kristin & hope you have fun @ DL! Happy holidays!
Hope you all have a great trip! Glad to hear you got snow for Christmas. I love your blog I check it every day.
I am glad that you got a White Chritmas. I love to see people get excited over snow, I guess living here in Colorado all my life we get plenty (except this year). This year we didn’t get a White Christmas (on the front range) my kids were out in jeans and long sleeves riding their new scooters.
Have a wonderful time at Disney. God Bless you and your family :)
I think it is so funny that you are so tickled over snow. I so had my share of snow when I lived in Michigan. Now I live in Florida, no snow but it gets almost cold enough to snow.
Can’t wait to see you next week. Are you meeting up with people on different days or will it be just on Sunday at Downtown Disney? Time?
Shari
What an amazing experience! I grew up in Birmingham (until I was 8) and I remember wishing for snow on Christmas too. What a lovely way for Andrew to tell you he loves you and he’s doing alright. Besides he’s up there being spoiled by his Grandpas ;)
My Mom has always wanted a white Christmas and I felt that is what she gave me too this year. It has been 13 years since I lost here. Thank you Mom!
We have about 13 inches here in Virginia. It would be beautiful except we are headed to Disney tomorrow by car, but the roads need to be passable.
Merry Christmas to you and your family! I love to have finally found a site that is my 2 fave things, Disney and couponing! You do such a nice job and I wanted to say thank you for sharing this story! I too know the Joy you felt seeing your “snow from Heaven”, and it warmed my heart to see your post, This year (Jan 23rd), My mother passed away, and it was the hardest day of my Life, she was my best friend and we miss her soooo much! She is a twin and her sister came here to Idaho from California for her services, my aunts only wish was to see snow, it never snows in Californina where she lives..and it would really lift her up… Not only did it snow the night she was scheduled to leave the flakes was the size of silver dollars, and enough to have a snow ball fight and put a smile on our greiving hearts. I know it was truly snow from heaven, and I am glad you got to have that to on This Christmas! Have a safe and blessed trip to WDW!~
Hi Merry Christmas, I am in NYC, in a Blizzard at the moment, but was surprised to see the map yesterday that it was snowing down in Alabama, wow, what a great gift. We love snow, but not too much to miss work, but hey the kids are off and loving it.
Kristin, that is amazing and beautiful! I’m so happy for you. AND…I can’t wait to hear about Disney!!!
Yay for a white Christmas! We had about 8 inches here, but it sure is beautiful out there and the roads were clear enough we were still able to visit family yesterday!
I bet that is beautiful! I’m glad they got the roads cleared, too. :)
Hey….glad to see you having some fun ….. I am in NC and we just brought our oldest son home from Tuscaloosa for the holidays….my husband and youngest son drove out there to get him….we are in the foothills and have about 8 inches of snow! Our boys are in their 20’s and we have not had a white Christmas since they were in their early teens. They stopped in Birmingham and shopped on the way home…had a great time. Your picture looks perfect…a good family memory…take care now.
How beautiful! We take snow for granted here…but you’re right…it is romantic and wonderful…thanks for reminding me of that. What a wonderful gift from above to you and your family. I’m so happy you were able to feel the peace and happiness of Christmas after the year you’ve had. Merry Christmas from my family to yours!
I am sorry to say that I take snow for granted and most winters can’t wait for spring. We live in Illinois and have snow, many times, from November through March!. I’m glad your family enjoyed your present of snow!
I’m so glad you had a peaceful and white Christmas. The snow was so pretty yesterday!
Can’t wait to follow your Disney trip.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Glenda
I wish we could send you a few more FEET of snow….we could do without a little bit of ours here in ND!! But I’m SO glad you had a white Christmas. :)
Thanks for sharing with us! I’m so glad you had a white Christmas!!
So glad you had a wonderful White Christmas! I grew up in Alaska, Went to college in Hawaii and now live in Texas. The only time I miss the snow is the week before Christmas. Once Dec. 26 arrives I am ready for spring. Enjoy it! Have you told your kids you are going to Disney World yet?
Wow! It must have been odd to go from living in Alaska to living in Hawaii!
Kristin – how exciting for you! I am so glad that Christmas turned out so well for you.
I am totally jealous of your trip. We went for close to those same dates in 2009 and it was the best. trip. ever. I hope that it is for all of you, too.
We currently have 6 inches of snow and the forecast says it will snow until 3 (eastern) this afternoon. Looking at the radar, it looks like your area is about to get more!
It has been snowing all morning. It is so romantic and beautiful!
