This is an easy way to grow your Disney fund! The cash out to Paypal, buy discounted gift card on Raise, pay your credit card with Disney funds in Paypal, and add Disney gift cards to your Disney vacation account method is really a smart way to grow your fund.
I grew my Disney fund by $545.47, that is a 12% increase! How you might wonder, simple I flipped or churned my money. It’s the same thing, but referred to differently by different people. When I began my Disney fund many Savears would cash out for Target gift cards or buy discounted Target gift cards thru Raise. Then go buy Disney gift cards in store or online at Target to save that additional percent or get them free. Unfortunately shortly after I started saving for Disney, that was done away with at most Targets including mine.
I’m a think outside of the box kind of girl. I knew there had to be a way to grow my fund by flipping my money. I starting trying to figure out which stores I shop at sell Disney gift cards. For me that is HEB, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Target, and Best Buy. HEB never has gift cards on Raise. Target was a no go for me. That left Best Buy, Walmart, and Sam’s Club. Best Buy and Walmart sold the Disney gift cards at face value. Sam’s Club sells Disney gift cards at 4% off face value. To me it was no brainer, buy my Disney gift cards from Sam’s Club. They have $150.00 packs for $142.98 online, $144.98 in store, and $500.00 packs for $479.88. The best part is you don’t have to leave your house! You can have them shipped to your home. It does cost yes, but only $0.99 per pack. It takes way more then that in gas for me to go to my local Sam’s club.
Instead of just cashing out for Walmart or Sam’s Club gift cards. I cashed out to Paypal. I did this so that I could use my credit card to buy the discounted Walmart gift cards from Raise for the additional 2% cash back on all purchases. That brought me up to 6% savings. Which is good, but I wanted better.
On Raise they sell Walmart and Sam’s Club gift cards. Often times the Sam’s Club gift cards are sold out. The gift cards available do change frequently. Check a few times a day and refresh while on the site. Usually you can find Walmart gift cards for around 4% – 6% off. I have found a few that where 10% off. Those ones go fast! So be ready. What I did was have my credit card info already saved in my account, that way I didn’t have to waste time typing all those numbers in every time.
I paid for the discounted Walmart gift cards from Raise with my credit card. Transferred my Disney fund earnings into my Paypal, then transferred to my bank and paid my credit card with it. Just by doing that, I grew my fund by 2% small yes, but that is $97.00 profit from that one simple act.
With this method alone I was able to grow my fund by $485.47. I also earned 2% with my Disney vacation account. That gave me a bonus of $60.00 just by adding the gift cards I purchased to my account. That gives me a grand total (drumroll please) of $545.47.
