There are three pools on board the Disney Magic Cruise. The family favorite is the Mickey Shaped pool. It’s perfect for all ages. There is very shallow water for the little ones and the tiny splash pad is right next to it. The Mickey pool is located on the back end of Deck 9. It is close to the drink station and several quick service meal places. This pool is where the fun slide is. The slide is only open when there is a Cast Member at the top working it. (We found that it was open pretty much all of the time, except when the ship was at port.)
Next, there is the Goofy pool. It is mid deck 9. This is deeper water, and better for kids who can swim. The top to this pool retracts and is the area used for outdoor activities such as the Sail away party and the Pirate Party. This area also has two hot tubs. We found that they were always swarming with kids. If we went to get in one, the kids scattered out pretty quickly. Our 8 yr old preferred this pool as she is a great swimmer.
The last pool area is in the adults only area of deck 9. There are two hot tubs and a pool here. This is called Quiet Cove Pool. The hot tubs were full most days, but open in the evenings. My hubby and I went the first night and had it 100% to ourselves! Kids are not allowed in this area at all.
In each pool area, they provide towels. You do not need to bring the towels from your rooms. They do a great job of keeping them stocked. You can take towels from the pool area back to your room if needed. You will need to put the wet towels in the designated areas at the pool or in your stateroom tubs for pick up.
There are tons of tables and chairs in the pool area. If you want a table, go before lunch time as they are pretty much all taken by noon each day.
