Here are a few tips from Couponing to Disney readers about how they reuse cereal bags:
- I reuse my cereal bags to store miscellaneous items around the house. I store my fast food straws, forks, etc in these…roll the top down, and I clothespin them to my rack in my pantry for easy access. Also any little bag from a new toy, for example, is great for when you collect box tops/campbell labels and you are always collecting them (i keep it open on the fridge with a magnet)…i always know where it is, and it’s DONE (instead of being put in a pile “to do later.”) – Julie
- I open bags up at the seams and use it sort of like wax paper. I can fold really large bags in half and roll my pie crust between them so it doesn’t stick to the roller. Other bags I might use to drop no bake cookies on to cool. I’ve even cut up the sections to put between the cookies in a container so they don’t stick together when stacked. – Angela
- I always recycle cereal bags—great for me and great for the environment! They are great when using the box grater . Open one up and then grate your carrots, cheese or whatever on to it and then just toss. They also can be used for freezer bags. The only reason I can imagine or justify why anyone would not want to recycle them is “they just don’t have the space to store them.” – Ruth
