How to save at Retail Stores:
Check their website for coupons. Many retail stores will have a coupon on their website. Check their social media channels for available coupons. You should always do a quick Google search to find available coupons.
Sign up for email or text clubs. Retailers will email or text you special coupons and discounts, especially around your birthday. Be sure to sign up for the clubs for any retailer that you regularly shop.
Ask the clerk for available coupons. When you are at a retail store or restaurant, ask them if they know of any coupons that are available before you checkout. You can show most retailers coupons on your phone, so do a quick search before you head to the register.
I asked at Aeropostale and they told me that the Info Desk in the mall sells a coupon booklet for $5 that includes a $10/$50 Aeropostale coupon in it. If I hadn’t asked, I would have been out an extra $10 that day. I got the coupon booklet for free because I am a AAA member.
Ask about eligible discounts. Most couponers know that stores offer a discount for seniors and military, but some stores also offer discounts for teachers, servicemen, students, and more. Always ask the store what kind of discount is offered.
Find out about rewards programs. Many retailers offer rewards for shopping with them. Ask your clerk if there is a rewards program you can sign up for.
Earn coupons for future purchases. Retailers, including Old Navy, and Kohl’s, will run a promotion during a specific time period where you earn a coupon off a future purchase. Always check your receipt and your shopping bag for coupons off your next purchase.
