If you are journeying from Liberty Square to Big Thunder/Splash Mountain, be sure to take the secluded path along Rivers of America in the Magic Kingdom. Starting in Liberty Square across from the Liberty Tree Tavern, this wooden planked path runs along the Rivers of America and ends right in front of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
We find this path to be somewhat secluded and we can make a quick dash to Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to grab Fastpasses. The flow of traffic is better on this path than through Frontierland and it can save you valuable park time. The smoking section on this path is no longer there.
Plus there is a small stone path that leads from the Liberty Square Riverboat loading area to the beginning of the Rivers of America path. This really helps to make for a fast dash from Fantasyland to the mountains.

We always use this path. Such a good short cut, especially on busy days.

The smokers don’t bother me it’s the stinky women who over coated their bodies with perfume (which I’m allergic to) that really bother me. I wish Disney would ban perfumes from the park and all their grounds, it causes some of us health problems.

I use this path all the time, the reason they have this path is so guests can get to and from splash/big thunder while the parades are going on.

The smokers truly ruin this amazing path. We took this the last time we were at the Magic Kingdom and there was literally a blue cloud of smoke hanging in the trees. Wish MK would just ban smoking from the grounds all together. (Sorry to the smokers).

I love the Rivers of America path and the one Suzanne mentions. Haven’t noticed the stone path from the riverboat yet. Something to look for on our next trip…

all the smokers ruin this path for those of us with allergies and who get sick for a week or longer when exposed to it!

My Fave MK path however is along the Railroad, from New Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. You pick it up just on the other side of Goofy’s roller coaster, and it meanders along between the train tracks and the backside of Tomorrowland Speedway. It’s such a lovely peaceful path, and you can get great photosof the train from there. Even on super crowded days, this path is quite secluded and relaxing.

We ALWAYS take that path – even with a stroller it’s wondeful. The only bad part is briefly walking thru the smoking section the have there.

I did this the last time I was there a couple of weeks ago. I was amazed at how quick it was even as busy as it was, and we were there for the reopening of Splash Mountain too so it was super duper busy on that side.
