As you walk past the Haunted Mansion, there is a secret to the brown pavement in Liberty Square that runs down the center of this land. The brown pavement represents the raw sewage that ran down the streets of Colonial America. During that era, people threw the waste from the upper windows of their homes and it gathered in the street. Gross huh?
In keeping up with the authenticity of this land, you will not find any indoor plumbing (a.k.a. restrooms) in Liberty Square. If you feel the need to go, you will find bathrooms beside Columbia Harbor House which geographically is not located in Liberty Square.
