I just want to encourage everyone that, while life throws us curve balls and things don’t go the way we intend, you can still achieve your goals! I’ve been saving for a solo trip since I found out I’m having a conference in Orlando. In February my DH let me know he booked a cruise for summer vacation (even though we said we are just traveling in state this year), and “all I have to cover are excursions, hotels and transportation.” Anyone who has cruised knows that can add up! Instead of diverting all of my savings to the cruise, I doubled up on my weekly savings, and split my earnings apps 50/50. I had to cut my spending quite a bit. The result – we were able to have excursions at 3/4 ports (the 4th was a free beach) and I paid off my trip about 6 weeks ahead of time! Thank you SavEars for being such a positive, supportive group!
