Have you ever wondered about getting away from the extended family during Thanksgiving at Disneyland? I can freely admit that I’ve considered it every year of my adult life. Of course we love our families and want to spend time with them, but come on, isn’t Thanksgiving a lot of work?? Almost more work if you’re the one visiting another’s home and have to answer the same questions all day long. Who’s with me here? And who doesn’t consider Disney to be a part of their family too? Am I right? So how bout we talk about celebrating Thanksgiving at Disneyland!
That thought inevitably brings you to wondering what does Disneyland offer for Thanksgiving? We may want to get away from the extended family one year, but few people want to give up the Thanksgiving Feast! Like most years Disney offers a choice of Thanksgiving meals. The biggest and best is hosted at the Disneyland Hotel in the Grand Ballroom.
Enjoy a buffet of Thanksgiving Favorites and more. Included in the menu of items are carved roasted breast of turkey and prime rib of beef. Accompanying sides include the ever popular homemade stuffing, sweet potato souffle, fresh cranberry orange relish plus the most popular side of all smashed potatoes with gravy (depending on who you ask, stuffing could be the most popular for some). Beyond that, you may want to experience a new Thanksgiving dinner, and this is where the buffet really shines. You can indulge in fresh salads, artisan cheeses, smoked salmon with other cured meats, plus chilled poached shrimp and king crab legs.
The kids (3 to 9 years old) also are taken care of with their own ‘kids buffet table’ which includes homemade pizza, macaroni & cheese, chicken, fresh corn, with their own dessert selections as well. They can also eat at the ‘adults buffet table’ if they wish.
The dinner portion sounds all well and good, but hey what about desserts?? Well let me fill you in, after you’ve finished enjoying your turkey, stuffing and crab legs, head over to the dessert table and enjoy traditional pumpkin and pecan pies, cookies, tarts, chocolate mousse, freshly made crepes and a chocolate fountain.
HEY! Come back, I know you’re raiding the fridge now after reading all the delicious food offerings and you’re hoping the Fridge Fairy stopped by with some of this, but I’m not done yet! Hang on a second so I can share something else about this great Thanksgiving Meal. Thanksgiving At Disneyland is hosted by Chip and Dale. Along with many other Disney friends they will be there to help you and welcome you to the great Thanksgiving Day Buffet.
After reading through all this it’s only logical to wonder how many hundreds of dollars Disney will charge you for this. Well it’s not inexpensive to be honest, but I do think with all they offer that this isn’t terribly priced. Adults (10 years old and up) are $73.99 and children (3 years old to 9 years old) are $21.99. Under 3 years old are free. Additionally, there is a 18% gratuity and 8% tax that is automatically added to your bill.
