The food is not the same at all the character meals (thank goodness!). Here are the 5 most delicious character meals at Walt Disney World:
‘Ohanas – This character meal is a family-style American breakfast that is influenced by Polynesian flavors. When you enter, you will be served delicious pineapple breakfast bread. The entrees arrive on a family platter and include scrambled eggs, Island-style friend potatoes, Hawaiian pork sausage, smoked bacon and a variety of fresh fruits and breads. Mickey waffles are available upon request. If you would like more of any of the entrees, let your server know. It is all you can eat.
The characters include Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch. They will come around to your table as you dine.
Tusker House – Located in Africa in the Animal Kingdom, Tusker House is a buffet brimming with African flavors. You can dine for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Breakfast entrees include a few traditional American favorites including Mickey waffles. You’ll also find African influenced dishes such as coconut-sweet potato casserole, cheese blintz, spiced corn beef hash with a cornbread topping, beef bobotie, split-roasted bone-in ham, potato and leek frittata and many more.
For lunch and dinner, you’ll find traditional american favorites for the kids. For adults, you can choose from Kenyan coffee bbq pork loin, Peri-Peri marinated baked salmon, Cape Malay curry chicken, Hummus, Blatjangs, spit-roasted beef top sirloin, mango chutney and much more.
Characters include Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy. They will come around to your table as you dine. Donald is sometimes available for a photo just before you enter the restaurant.
Chef Mickey’s – This all American buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast, you will find a number of American favorites including Mickey waffles, bacon, eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, carved ham with sweet and spicy sauce, Kielbasa, buttermilk biscuits with country gravy and assorted danishes and pastries.
For brunch you can dine on BBQ ribs, baked salmon, Kielbasa, Hickory-smoked bacon, carved ham with sweet and spicy sauce and traditional breakfast and lunch favorites for the kids. There is also a build-your-own sundae bar.
For dinner you can dine on spiced-rubbed sirloin of beef, mango barbecue pork ribs, oven-roasted lemon pepper chicken, lobster macaroni and cheese, eggplant parmesan and traditional american favorites for the kids. There is also a build-your-own sundae bar.
Characters include Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. They will come by your table as you dine.
Akershus – This princess meal is located in Norway. For lunch and dinner, you can dine on popular Norwegian foods. But for breakfast (which is when I recommend going), you can dine on traditional American favorites.
When you arrive for breakfast, you can visit the small food bar to select pastries, breakfast meats and other treats. Your entrees will be served to you family style and include scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potato casserole.
Characters include Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, Ariel and Belle. They will stop by your table as you dine.
The Garden Grill – Located in The Land Pavilion in Epcot, this delicious character meal serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I recommend dining for lunch or dinner. Entrees are served family style and include the “Living with the Land” Harvest-inspired Farmer’s Salad, char-grilled sliced filet of beef, roasted all-natural sliced turkey, sweet potato fries, bacon and leek stuffing and home-style macaroni and cheese.
Characters include Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale. They will visit your table as you dine. This restaurant also slowly rotates 360 degrees as you eat.
Don’t miss these 10 entrees under $10 in the Magic Kingdom.
