We went to Animal Kingdom today. The weather was great and the crowds were decent. We got to the park about 8:30 am and they were already letting people in. They held them at the Tree of Life for the morning welcome show (a beautiful flock of Macaws) before we were released to head to our favorite attractions. We stayed until 11:10 AM before heading home.
Here are things to know from our day at Animal Kingdom:
1. In the ladies restroom at the entrance, the door is BEFORE the wall. Every time I stop at the restroom next to Guest Services I observe people attempting to exit around the wall near the diaper changing area. Granted they came in the swinging door, but they walk right past it every time and come around the corner where the diaper changing station is. If you have to change your kid, observe how many people try to exit the wrong way. Ha!
2. Triceratop Spin plays Christmas music. I thought this was a great addition. They were playing “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer.”
3. Bored? Play name that Tsum Tsum. If you are browsing a gift shop, take a moment to play name that Tsum Tsum. Some of them you really can’t tell who they are. We had a good time with this.
4. Donald Duck opens The Boneyard. The last few times we have gone, Donald Duck has opened The Boneyard. He gathered all of the kids up around him for a picture and then waved us into the playground area.
5. How many elephant steps is it? There are new signs in the parking lot that tell you how many elephant steps are from where you parked to the entrance. I thought this was a fun addition and definitely helped us remember where we parked.
