Never been at the front of the line-we are not the best morning people but after reading some of your posts-I realize we would avoid some crowding by arriving early so next time we’ll try it
They had the hula hoops when we were at DownTown Disney a few months ago and my 14 month old was in love with them! She’d stand inside the circle and smile like she was big stuff.
If I was there I would be up early too and want to be the first ones in the park. I remember reading on your blog about the best line to get into so you will get in the park faster, that crack me up.
Thank you so much for sharing your trip with all of us. We are going in December and reading all your updates just makes me even more excited….and a wee bit jealous your there now and I’m here at home NOT enjoying the rainy day :). Have a wonderful day…hug Mickey for me :).
We live in Florida and you picked one of the nicest times to visit Disneyworld.
The weather is warm but not miserable. The daily thunderstorms have not yet hit.
The lines are not bad as we can see in your photo. Have a wonderful time. Enjoy the little ones, mine are all grown up now and what I wouldn’t give to have one more day with them when they were your kids age.
My parents went to Disney with us several years ago and I informed my dad that we would be at the park before it opened and that we would be touring ‘commando’ style. (Disclaimer: I grew up in AL and in the 80s, Mark & Brian were on the radio in Birmingham. ‘Commando’ to M & B – and a lot of other people – meant going without underwear!) My dad then asked me why we couldn’t wear our underwear at Disney World! Thankfully, we cleared this up before he went ‘commando’ in the World.
Wow, that is awesome!! We leave in 6 days and I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I have to say we aren’t usually rope drop people (we usually hit the evening EMH park and stay extra late), but seeing the pics of the crowd levels have inspired me to try it this year!
Have fun!
Although I’m in the Central Florida area, we seldom make it do WDW. It’s much too hot, too pricey, and too crowded. However, for my kids, I will do anything. We went 5 years ago. Now that my youngest is 4, we are heading back again in July. We participated in the Give a Day, Get a Day, so there are 8 of us going. I can’t wait. It’s easy to overlook the crowds, the money, and the heat when you have Disney magic on your side! Have a great time. BTW, I’ve accumulated over $200 from found money and rebates, so far. Getting ready to cash in my Inbox Dollars!
How cool! I’ve never seen that at rope drop. We’ve never been a part of the opening ceremonies, though. When we’re there before park opening, we’re there WAY before park opening! We love to make character breakfast ADRs before the park opens, so by the time we’re done eating, the park is just opening and free and clear for us to enjoy!
Seventeen years ago today, my husband and I got married and started our life together by jetting off to WDW for a week for our honeymoon! I hope you enjoy your vacation as much as we did!!
How Exciting!! You have inspired me. I am going to “coupon to Disney” too! But were in Colorado so we have to pay for plane tickets and Im 7 months preggo sooo Im hoping we’ll be there in 3 years. :) thanks for the tips!
it is so nice of you to give us our disney AND couponing to disney “fix” while you are on vacation!!!! have a wonderful, relaxing day with your family! you deserve it!
This just makes me that much more excited for Christmas when I get to see the smile on my bf’s little mans face. Thanks for helping us get there for Christmas I know it will be full of great memories.
Love it!!! Thanks for letting us live the trip through you! I’m so jealous but glad y’all are having so much fun.

<3 those are great "front of line" pics!
we love getting there early as well, although we have never been at the front of the line. Great job.
Looks like fun! I wish they had hula hoops etc at Disneyland while waiting at the gate.

We tried to make it rope drop when we were there in April but we had some non-sleepers the night before. They couldn’t quite get going early enough.
Awwww happy anniversary Diane!! Thanks for the well wishes. :)
Woo-hoo! Have a wonderful day. I hope you keep your energy level up and wear yourself out so you will GET SOME SLEEP tonight!
If I was there I would be up early too and want to be the first ones in the park. I remember reading on your blog about the best line to get into so you will get in the park faster, that crack me up.
I’m so going to insist we make one opening at the MK on our next trip, hehe! Love me some Disney World, so do my 4 kiddos!
