Typically, the reason your kitchen gets messy and stays messy is because you have dirty dishes laying around. Most of us have dishwashers, but still have a hard time disciplining ourselves to put the dishes in there. Here’s my tip on how to keep your kitchen clean: clean as you go. When you are cooking dinner, challenge yourself to put your dirty dishes in the dish washer as you use them. Before you start cooking dinner, fill up your sink with hot soapy water. This way, when you have used a pan or a pot (by the way, you should NEVER put them in the dishwasher) you can toss it right in and it won’t become a sticky, greasy mess that you have to deal with later. After you finish your meal with your family, go back to the sink and swish your sponge or cleaning brush around your pots and pans real quick and rinse them off. Once you start to keep dirty dishes out of your sink, you will want to keep the rest of your kitchen tidy as well.

In my experience, even if it says they are dish washer safe…they are not. The dishwasher will take the smooth finish off the outside of the pans. It becomes dull and almost chalky. I have the Cuisinart Green Gourmet line now (and Love them!!!) and would not dare let them in the dishwasher.
That’s exactly right! Also, it breaks down your nonstick coating in your pots and pans and rusts stainless steel.
why shouldn’t we put pots and pans in the dishwasher?
