Want to learn the tip to a perfectly hard boiled egg? You don’t actually boil them until they are done. That makes your eggs tough and your yolks green. Here are the steps to a perfect egg:
- Place eggs in a single layer in a pot. Fill with enough water to cover the eggs plus 1 inch.
- Bring water to a boil, then remove from heat!
- Cover the pot and let sit for about 12 minutes. (15 minutes for extra large eggs)
- Remove eggs from pot and put in a bowl of ice water until cooled. The cold water will stop the eggs from cooking AND make the shells easier to peel.
