Deposits
It’s best to put a deposit down if you know what dates you will be traveling ($200 per room) so you are guaranteed the availability, like saving your spot. You don’t wait to book until a special comes out, it can be applied later.
Having your confirmation number will help with your dining if you are more than 180 days out from your travel. You can book dining reservations 180 days in advance for the first 10 days of your vacation. This saves you from having to book each day of your trip on its individual 180-day mark. Just another benefit of being a resort guest!
Discounts from Disney
You can only have one discount applied to your package at a time- whether it’s a PIN, Kid’s Stay/Play Free, Free Dining or starting with a room discount and adding to your package from there. As a Disney travel agent, who watches these closely, I’ve seen a room rate discount work out cheaper than one of the big specials they are advertising- you never know when there are specials with overlapping periods!
When those specials come out I take care of that for all my clients who qualify as part of a discount monitoring program- sometimes it’s a discount on their package or it’s adding on more benefits like Dining which doesn’t always change the price. PINs can even be applied after a package is booked and even making adjustments to the dates a little to fit the qualifications if needed.
Payments
Disney Travel Company doesn’t have an automatic payment program, but you can make payments at anytime (of any amount) with Destinations in Florida. You can even schedule monthly payments to be charged directly to your credit card on the date you select. We charge your payments and then email you on confirmation, showing your remaining balance. This is one of our favorite ways to make a Disney vacation affordable!
Changes and Cancellations
Disney requires a deposit of $200 per room to confirm your package. The final payment is due 30 days prior to arrival. You can pay using a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express debit or credit card. Please review the Disney cancellation policy for your package – if you need to cancel your package from 30-2 days prior to arrival, Disney charges a $200 cancellation penalty per room. If you make any changes 30 days or less prior to arrival, Disney charges a $50 change fee.
Waiting vs Canceling
I had a client get a quote just recently with a great room rate and they weren’t ready to book- a few weeks later when they were ready, the special was over and their package jumped $800! That is so hard for a fellow saver like me to have to tell them! They were still beyond the 45 days when they started to consider the price, so I would have either had to call to make the final payment or cancel that day if they had their deposit in, but at least they would have had the cheaper option.

I am pretty frustrated with destinations in florida agents I have contacted for quotes. The first one I contacted was 7/10 I asked her to modify the quotes and also to get a quote that I had originally asked for on 7/13. Have not heard from her since. So i decided to contact another agent on Friday morning. She sent a courtesy email but I have not gotten any quotes. So this makes me think I am going to have issues getting information and considering there are 9 of us going for 8 days I know we are going to be spending alot of money and I am not comfortable putting that money in the hands of someone who can not return an email. I will give her another day but if I don’t receive an email it looks like I will have to make all of our travel arrangements again (I have done it for our last 2 vacations). Just thought this would be a win-win since we wouldn’t have the stress and it would be free to us and someone would make a pretty good commission to make our travel arrangements.

I used Nancy Bobby from The Affordable Mouse. She broke down everything and responded very fast to my emails. I was very pleased with the service.

It seems a lot of their older and more knowledgeable agents have left and gone out on their own. We have booked four vacations with Amanda who used to be with them and she is with Magical Dream Tours Travel now – great services, attentive and gives gift cards as incentives, even though we have booked numerous vacations with her.

I had an issue with not receiving responses from an agent last Fall. I made initial contact, but then did not receive responses to my questions via email. So this has not just happened to you but maybe is something that happens frequently with this company?
